Need homemade wedding party favors ideas

Here's the deal, Christmas morning my stepdaughters boyfriend proposed to her and she accepted.

They are planning a superfast wedding, being married in February.

Then my oldest daughter decided to get married this year too, in May.

Funds are super low right now. (See my irregularly updated blog in my sig if you don't already know why.)

I can't afford the glamourous/splendid weeding a father would like to give his daughter, but I'd still like to make it as nice as possible.

Do any of you have any suggestions for homemade party favors for giving away at the reception?

Any and all ideas are appreciated.

Did you miss that part?

Actually Michael, I think I did ask you to send me a payment link and prices about a week or so ago.

My first thought was for a February wedding making something like these:

    Party Treats

You could technically do the same idea for both weddings just mix up the colors for the May one with more "spring" colors. Congrats to both of your daughters!

You can either buy or make tiny little boxes, or organza bags. At a wedding I went to recently, some were filled with mini chocoloate balls, some had the tiny packets of lovehearts in them, some had the miniature Oreos on them, some with sugared almonds etc. They went down a treat!

I was actually at Michaels the other day for some supplies, they have quite a bit of cheap wedding gift ideas there if you're crafty.

Already mentioned by JaiJay - 5 sugared almonds represent happiness, health, wealth, fertility and long life. Place in a little square of pretty material like tulle netting and tie with ribbon.

Kim, if you fill up a bunch of condoms with whipped cream you'll end up with favors folks will remember the rest of their lives.

And all the single guys there will love you for it...:p

On another note...Congrats big time on adding more family members. Those are the things in life that truly matter.

While I do regret not being able to give them the big weedings they would like, I know they were rasied well enough to appreciate what they get.

This is my favorite part in planning out a wedding. When I got married last May, I gave out bubbles and bells for everyone to blow and ring after me and my husband left. BUT my favorite one of all was the candy. Here is what I did....

I went to Wal-Mart and bought little favor boxes in the wedding section.

I filled them up with 1 Hershy Hug, 1 Hershy Kiss, and one Dove Promise.

I tied it up with a bow and attached a little note that said...

"True love begins with a Hug, a promise, and a kiss"

      Everybody loved it!

You can use that if you like or you can go to wedding channel.com. They have wonderful ideas also. Or you can stick with your wedding theme. There are so many wonderful ideas out there. Hope this helps! And congrats on your wedding!

My cousin did something really cool for her wedding. she got an estimate on the cost for doing custom chocolates, etc....then donated that money to charity, minus the cost to buy a jumbo size bag of animal crackers, some tulle to wrap them, and photocopying costs to explain that in lieu of a fancy candy, the money had been donated. it was really sweet, and very cheap for them.
