Toon army...please fall in!

I wonder if there are any Magpies
or fans of Newcastle United around the world
in the WF?

Would be awesome to find out.

Liverpool man myself. Would like to see the barcodes back in the EPL though as long as they are no threat to us

Ahhh....the Reds! We had some classic 4-3 matches in the past.

Look forward to more classic matches next season!

One of the biggest mistakes the Geordies ever made was signing Michael Owen from Real Madrid for 18 000 000 Pounds. WTF were they thinking? Nobody else wanted him, not even Liverpool. Didn't the big boys at St. James's Park get the hint?

To be honest, I was over the moon when Owen signed.

But what a player - a player that behaves like a mercenary
and don't dig in when the going gets tough!

      Some captain!

One of the worst worst buy in Newcastle history. Negative ROI!

Also, Newcastle had superbly incompetent management
(I'm talking about the chairman and owner).

Good thing that Newcastle has ridded themselves of all
the diseases with the relegation. It's a blessing in disguise.

No worries. Newcastle will back next season. Stronger.

I'm a Newcastle guy going back to the days when Alan Shearer was tearing holes in the back of the net. It's a bummer they got relegated. Hope they make it back next year.

I still watch the EPL faithfully on Fox Soccer Channel but my new team is Real Madrid because of Cristiano Ronaldo. He is hands down the best player in the world and is a joy to watch.

By the looks of things, Newcastle will be back next season.

That is barring any self-inflicted catastrophic collapse.

    Yup - I'm a life long Magpie!

North East (the better side of it) born and bred . . . witnessed many good (and bad) games. My favourite ever was Newcastle V Liverpool (circa 1971) when Malcom Macdonal on his debut for the black and whites scored a hat trick and then had to go off concussed.

My worst ever moment (apart from relegation last year) was Kevein Keegan leaving the club on both occassions . . .

Just watched a pretty boring 0-0 draw with Leicester City

      Hey Kevin,

      Nice to meet you!

The draw with Leicester was a major disappointment.

The foxes are down to 10 men, and yet Newcastle
couldn't finish them off. Poor performance.

And yes, I was devastated when Newcastle was relegated.

But there's always a silver lining in the clouds.

      Cheers,

I am a Newcastle convert b/c of a work colleague who is a Geordie. I agree that the relegation has actually cut some of the driftwood. A shame they didn't get any money for Owen on the transfer. That guy is almost as bad as Sol Campbell. I'm looking forward to seeing them up in the premier league again next season

I do not go asnymore or buy and gear. I am not donating my money to these cowboys.

Still we might win the EPL again...never thought it was possible this year but with rooney in top form we might just sneak it.. John Terry LOL naught boy!

Well...as you know Newcastle...nothing is ever certain.

We always make it hard for ourselves. Hopefully we buck up a little
in the run in towards May.

I hope your team makes the play off spot. Leicester is a good team.

Yes your right there.. But i think they are to strong for this league, They needed to be relegated though just to show the players how bad they really where.

I hope Leicester do get Play off spot but they seem to be going down hill now.

        Nathan.

I'm rooting for Leicester. To be honest, Leicester deserved
were pretty unlucky to be down to 10 men when you
guys played Newcastle a week back.

In fact, you were probably even more unlucky not to score.

With some luck and spirit, Leicester could be in with a real

Red Devils chick here! I'm with you on the Owen buy Jag! I too was happy we signed him thinking "OMG Sweet, the league is ours again this year for sure" but what has he done????

Yes ok he has scored a couple of crucial goals like against the lesser blue half of our zone and some champs league ones but seriously???? The only reason I am patient with him is because he was free but I think he's deadwood and Sir AF should cut him loose!

Anyways Jag, I hope Newcastle gets back into EPL soon. They're one of the teams I'm ok with.

      Nice. Red Devil chick huh?

At least you all got Owen - free. With a small salary.

We? We got the deal of the century.

$17 million transfer fee. $100K/week salary.
Gets injured most of the time.
No leadership quality in times of crisis.

And when Newcastle went down, he
published a brochure to sell himself to other clubs.

      A great captain indeed!

Former season ticket holder but due to other commitments at the time was forced to give it up. Still make the away games when i can which are always much, much better atmosphere than the home games.

Im sorry, but even when there is 520000 geordies in St James park its still as quiet as a library, nothing like what it was between 1992 - 1996

Loads of my mates are liverpool fans. They are all round the 30 years old mark so when we started to get into futty it was when the pool were at the top all the time

Newcastle are looking good for the title or atleast for promotion. If we beat forest on monday we will be 13 points clear of forest who are 3rd and after mondays game they can only get a maximum of 18 points so im pretty confident that newcastle can atleast get 6 points from their last 7 games

I used to support Newcastle in the days when they had Peter Beardsley, Chris Waddle, Gazza and a certain young Andy Cole. Those days were glory, with Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer banging them in, David Ginola fleeing down the wing, Faustino Asprilla full of tricks, the snarling David Batty and Rob Lee in support and yet strangely they never won the League.

My favorite game was the Newcastle-Liverpool 3-4 encounter in 1996... totally defines their style as an all-out attacking team who doesn't give any hoots about defending. You can catch the highlights of that match on YouTube (sorry I can't post it here as I do not have enough posts yet).

These days, I don't support any team but I just watch the games of the teams that play flowing football, like Arsenal or Barca.

Leicester are a good team. Nigel Pearson is a good coach. Let's hope you guys make it. After all, Newcastle were actually quite lucky to get a draw on one of the earlier games.
