I hope you like poetry

Hi everybody. I was sitting at work listening to music ( I know working hard) when this came to me.

I used to write a lot but have been quiet of late. I just thought that I would share it with you.

Hole Hearted

I still wonder,
wonder where you are,
what you have accomplished.
And what our lives would have been if,
if I had stayed.
I loved you,
more than a drowning man loves oxygen,
but that was not enough.
I needed more,
and you were content in what you had.
I needed to travel,
explore,
discover,
and live.
You,
you just wanted to play house.
Though of the same age.
you were old when we met.
You were ready to settle down,
and be conservative.
I was bouncing off the walls.

I think about you often.
I think about us and the time we had,
in your arms
and lost in your eyes.
And I miss it.
But I knew then I couldn't stay.
I had to see the world and achieve my dreams.
I hope you achieved yours.
We may never again cross paths,
and while that would be disappointing,
I hope you are happy and wish you well.
I, however, still have the need to be windswept and interesting
and I still have a lot to do.
So while this is goodbye,
you shall forever be in my heart,
my dreams
and entwined into my soul.

That was a good one. I like poetry and most of what I write is like this only. I don't follow any style or rules - sonnets or rhymes or whatever.

Being windswept and interesting - well that's an interesting thought.

Thank You. I don't believe in conforming to a style. It limits the expression. I dont beleive that you can write passionate poem when you trying to conform or try to rhyme.

Thanks. I like the idea that my poems can affect peoples emotions across a broad spectrum. You should see the ones where I write angry.

Whole Hearted would be a better title.

    Reminds me of Pamela Brown.

It's not a dream, it never was.
It's either everything or nothing at all.

    Don't sit on the fence.
Either open the gate and come in, or forget you even noticed.

Don't look at me like that either.
It's not your fault this time, so don't beat yourself up over it.

Yes it's very sad to me; Nothing lasts.
But you know there's nothing to remember, so get rid of me.

Filled With regret, there is only one direction I look.

Back; back when I could have done things differently, but didn't.

I say I didn't know, but all the while I wished I had, so who am I really fooling?

You say it's what you wanted too, but that is a hidden lie, and we both know it.

So where does this all lead, when it seems to go nowhere?

...even when I am going back?

Regretful, and sorry, I can't take anything back, and neither can you.

Great Stuff. If I get the chance over the week I'll put my book up on line so that people can grab it.

I'll pre-warn you though. Not all my poems are nice, and a few can be very confronting.

However, I do believe in writing with passion and emotion, what ever that emotion may be.

Thank you Laura. I always want my poetry to touch people. The main reason I write is to invoke emotions.
