Default RIP: Roger Tane Koronaihan Waaka

Roger was only 29.

My buddy for 9 years.

He was a recovered meth addict, liked his booze and women.

He was not kind to his girlfriends of which there were many and the dude had at least 3-4 illegitimate children that I know of.

Roger had schizophrenia in the past.

He was a tough dude, nearly got stabbed to death 3 years back in a 5 on one fight against his favor. Roger survived that one.

He spent a few months living on the street in Auckland. He enjoyed fighting on the street.

I just found out today that my buddy got drunk the week before Xmas, fell off a chair, broke his neck and died.

Roger also was ambitious & one hell of a sales man. Sometimes he had money, sometimes not. He always told me he would be a millionaire and retired before he hit 40.

Now Roger is dead.

Goodbye Bro.

Poor old Roger, he had as many enemies as friends & couldn't tolerate working for others.

One day he walked into a large building site, it was a 20-30 story apartment complex under construction. A very large site, he was about 25 at the time & told them he was a commercial painter with his own company and staff.

In a few hours he had the contract for several floors and the whole thing if he could take it on.

He was full of BS, had no staff & could barely paint himself, he met a stranger at a bar who said she could get him 16 guys to do the work the following week.

They tried, for two weeks these guys tried to paint this building. He phoned me up and asked me to help, I came and my eyes popped out.

It was a disaster, crooked cutting in and dribbles everywhere....

Suffice to say he didn't hit pay dirt with this plan but at least he had the balls to try and if he had the right connections would have made 30-50K.

Instead he made enemies with the contractors that hired him and had a feud for several months as he did with many people.

He had leadership potential but the booze killed him in the end. Some would say his death was for the best but really it was a shame.

He was also very charming and debonair around females.
