    Micheal,

That basket looks like the deal of the century.

My wife and I sell baskets similar to yours but price them a little higher.

Just as a heads up...if you make the baskets too far in advance the perfumes from the soaps, et al, can permiate the chocholates giving them an unusual taste in some instances.

    Other than that...

      thanks for the tip.
i was kind of worried about the the chocolate thing too, but other than the bath bomb, everything is individually shrink wrapped. I think it will be ok, we'll see.

    Looks great Motley!

If I added one thing it would be rose petals. Here's why..

I thought about that..but then that means you're cleaning out the petals from the bath tub after your bath.

Basket looks great and I wish you every success.

If I was receiving this for valentines A rose (even a silk scented one) would be a nice touch.

It looks and sounds great, Mike -

I have never seen a gift basket that mixes the scents like that though - some preach 'layering' scents - so you stick with the same scent or complimentary.

    - lots of good citrus which does go with chocolate in your basket, but the watermelon and clean sheets are the wild hair (hare?) - nobody will notice -

    yummy citrus and chocolate combo.

I got a little jar of Italian hand cream for Xmas which is chocolate and cherry (ciligia & ciococolato) It is just a nice change from my vanilla vanilla.

Good luck I hope you make a mint!

    mmmm mint and chocolate

This is the thing about soap/bath scents. Scents come in two varieties, you either have Fragrance oils (FO) or Essential Oils (EO). Fragrance oils are sythetically made scents Essential oils are natural scents. There are only so many different essential oils but there are tons of fragrance. essentials tend to be things like citrus, sugar..food type smells.

Some people will try to sell bath products with fragrance oils but the smells generally smell very 'fake' and unpleasent in my opinion, and even for someone that isnt generally alergic to things, fragrance oils can have nasty effects on the skin when you soak in them like for a bath.

nothing is going to kill a nice valentine's night like a chem burn from the waist down.

I understand Michael and wouldn't want fragrance either. I only like essential oils (i am a foody) and have sensitive skin - even perfumes i wear are botanical.

I just don't get why you responded with this info when my only issue was that the scents don't match - i was saying all food (essentials) - chocolate and citrus - chocolate and vanilla -

clean sheets and watermelon doesn't go with chocolate and citrus (well watermelon maybe although no contrast like sweet & citrus - it would be sweet and sweet so might be icky.

I see a couple ladies agee with me so for once I am not 'odd'.
        (thanks ladies)

I know I have told you before about how I kicked a glazed donut habit with vanilla essential oils? I wish I was more of an entrepreneur because this would make a great diet fad. Dontcha think?

When you feel a diet destructing crave coming on slather on essential oils. Forget those $200 CDs and cookbooks, drugs and all the rest. Just smell good and you won't need to eat anything naughty!

oh man, can you smell chocolate cotton candy? (vanilla and chocolate) omigod I am going into a crave.

This probably betrays a serious lack of knowledge off all things girly, but what is that thing that looks like a pink rotting tennis ball at the front?

    Soap?

Yes. Bathbombs are also called 'bath fizzies'. Its about the size of a baseball and when you throw it in the tub it fizzes, changes the water color, smells nice..etc. I make mine with a bit of shea butter to make skin soft as well. Its sort of like an akla seltzer for the bath.

    Michael,

That looks like a great price for the basket!

A couple of comments, I agree about the scents, unless you were putting together a sampler, I would do the scents all one type for layering as Patrician mentioned.

As for the presentation, I would try to work a a few more levels in there. The chocolate box could go down in the basket more, and maybe even slide in underneath the other items. You can use newspaper or something of a similar weight to bulk up the bottom of the next level and then have the smallest things around front.

Also the bath products seem to be all white. You could break that up with red tissue paper or ribbon wound in between them, sprinkle some Valentine confetti and a few chocolate hearts to finish it off.

My friend puts together some amazing gift baskets for raffles and I've helped as a flunky a few times while she's put them together. Another thing she does is make the wrap tight. There are some types that you can shrink with a hair dryer, or else you can tuck back and tape the excess.

    Happy Valentines Everyone
It's now too late to comment unless you do Sunday Markets with them perhaps...but for nxt year...definitely more contrast of colour... particularly reds (confetti and ribbons were great suggestions...as are addtional choccy hearts).

Pink and white is ok, but suspect a girl would be more likely to like the 'softness' feel... Boys are more likely to wanna encourage passion...red will catch their eye...

    Cherry flavours.........mmmmm yummy

That being said, if someone bought me this I'd be over the moon anyway. Lovely contents
