We all know that pizza is one of our favorite food.
So, what's your favorite pizza toppings?

Has to be thin crust with onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. Perhaps spinach or other veggies as well. I've got Kashi thin crust veggie pizza. It has broccoli on it. Didn't think broccoli would be good on pizza but it is.

You both fail! You don't put broccoli or spinach on pizza...Pizza is what you eat INSTEAD of those things. Geeesh!

I'll let you slide with the onions, green peppers and mushrooms, but I have to draw the line somwhere. Pizza is not salad.

I really, honestly, love pizza with green peppers, black olives, and three-times-extra cheese. Most pizza places have a five-topping special, but it's often a little difficult to explain. You say "green peppers, black olives, extra cheese, extra cheese -" and the cashier says "I got extra cheese" and you have to go "no, extra cheese AGAIN on TOP of the first extra cheese." Then once they get that you have to say "and extra cheese," so they get all confused again and can't understand what you're doing.

Lots of good toppings mentioned already...

Not so sure about the manatee, the brocolli, or the spinach...

What I haven't seen anybody mention is adding garlic slices and a drizzle of olive oil over the pizza.

I do that to all of mine, makes a tasty difference.

At least on my end, it was a joke...

Although I'd like to oven roast a few of the "Save the Manatee" folks - the ones that lobby for speed zones in areas that haven't seen a manatee in decades.

      It's counterproductive...

It pisses off people who might otherwise be sympathetic to the cause. And it creates disregard for the speed zones where manatees are commonly sited.

Besides, with their diet of vegetation, they might taste pretty good once you get past the blubber. Or they might be like the description Crocodile Dundee used on the iguana in the movie - "they taste like ****, but they'll keep you alive"...:p (that means I'm joking again).

Now, if we could just find a decent recipe for iguanas and pythons... (not joking).

Yes, it was a joke...Some people need to think before they insult....

But while we're on the subject, what's the difference between eating a manatee or a pig, cow or chicken, all of which have been suggested on this thread?

At the risk of getting political, pigs, cows and chickens don't have civic groups made up of socialites with too much time and too much money on their hands. That, and tourists won't lay down their vacation dollars to see pigs, cows or chickens, at least not in this part of Florida.

Here's one I've seen offered in only one place: carmelized onions (Agatha and Valentino, UES, New York).

I make my own pizza and bread from scratch. For instructions go to my blogspot blog: slowbread. If you know blogspot, you know how to put the address together from the clue.

It's easy to saute onions to perfection at the last moment. When you're about to put the pizza dough in the oven put the carmelized onions on top of the dough. The dough and onions cook together from that point on. You don't need any other ingredients.

The idea of a 'favorite food' is silly. There's so much good food in the world there's no need to limit choices.

No I'm not kidding! Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, onions, olives and oil and vinegar....amazingly good!

My other 2 votes are for Buffalo Chix Pizza- with Ranch but some prefer Bleu Cheese

or Chicken Fajita... Lettuce Tomato Sour Cream Salsa Chicken (add jalapenos if you need spice)

My place has them! Our regulars know to specify which type of onions(carmelized or raw) but they go great with tomatoes and a little basil on a white pie!

Darklock that was absolutely hilarious. Well played.

For me, hmmmm, well, I'll eat just about anything, but I've always been partial to the good ol' mushrooms and either pepperoni or sausage. OH and extra cheese!! I almost hit "post" without saying extra cheese! What is wrong with me. Extra cheese is the first thing out of my mouth whenever ordering ANY pizza.

    *bangs head against wall*

But if I'm at Lombardi's the only extra topping I get is extra basil. mmmmmmmmmmmm

Val, I'll meet you halfway. One of my favorite lunches when it gets hot here in the summer is a nice Caesar salad, with a liberal portion of grilled chicken or shrimp.

I'll also go for a nice chopped salad or wedge salad as the starter for a good steak dinner...

For those who don't get the reference, here's what my sig said until a few moments ago, and what it will likely say again in April:

Not a stupid question if you don't know the answer...

      1. Go to whichever forum you think might be most appropriate. The main forum is usually a good starting place if you aren't sure.

      2. Near the top of the page, on the left hand side right under the toolbar, you should see a button called "New Thread"

      3. Click that button, and a posting form should open. Fill out the subject line and post body, and submit. Your posted question should now appear.

      Here's a hint...

Use the subject line to give a clue about what your question is about. You'll likely get better answers than if you just post "I have a question".

We have a place here called Tucci's that as rated in top 10 pizzerias in the U.S., incredible coal fire pizzas. All their ingredients are fresh, we get their pies with meatballs (their own recipe), fresh artichokes, and sometimes a few others things.... flat out incredible. Everyone I've brought there is blown away.

For normal N.Y. style pizza, we have another place that we just get plain pies from b/c their dough is so damn good (they season the outside of the crust and bottom) and they use their own sauce thats a "sweet" style. Really good, like their pies plain as they taste so damn good as is.
