Hi,

I've seen it mentioned a lot -- but what is it?

Its a free copy of a report, or piece of software given in exchange for a short testimonial.

In practice, its extremely bad form to *ask*. You'll notice most reviews on warrior are Given either by people who purchased the product, or people who were picked ahead of time by the product owner.

    Would this be an example:

I get a free copy of a report (what type of report?) from you if I'd give you a testimonial?

    Hey Silvercap,

Normally a free report is a lead generation for a sign up, not a review. Although if the content is exceptionally good, the reader may be motivated to send a testimonial.

A review is often given to JV partners or super affiliates in order to get them excited about promoting the product their reviewing and also to give them more info about "how" to promote it.

For example, you may watch the videos given for review and say "video 3 talks about ___ and gives a killer secret that does ____" (obviously you'd fill in the blanks with the relevant info). Then you might say something like, "this is one technique out of 24! I highly recommend picking it up if you want to really master ____ in the next 30 days".

Reviews like this can be very powerful since they come across as more of a referral vs a sales pitch since it's not your product, but someone else you're talking about.

    Hope that helps! =]
