I need auto work fast at a residence

I need to get a battery installed (I bought) and have an on-the-spot mechanical check done. Car belonged to relative and has been garaged and unused for 3 years. I've got a day before I leave town.

All the repair shops will only work on a car if I have it towed in. Since the registration is 3 years expired, I'm not willing to risk that - and hope to unload the car as soon as the Duplicate Title is received.

Any suggestions for how to find affordable, competent and fast help?

    Have you tried your local yellow pages? American classifieds/thrifty nickel? Call local auto parts stores and see if they have recommendations? Twitter?

      thanks - someone suggested 'mobile mechanic' - I'll try those resources you suggested. If i can't find online - hopefully hotel front desk has a yellow pages.
