I actually disagree with this -- Blogspot is amazing because you index nearly instantly on google as they are owned by google.

For example, when we comment on a news story on DetentionSlip.org, we routinely outrank the story we are commenting on when you do a google search for the headlines..

You CAN mask the URL rather easily and modify it however you want.

If you want to remove the search bar, just use this code in your css:

Also - plenty of very big companies use the blogger url -- twitters blog, for example, is a blogger blog. Though in your particular case, since you are trying to build a brand, I'd probably do: http://blog.perfectlovehere.com

You can set all of this up in blogger.

  If you go to the cpanel of your site. You should be able to find a section where you can ad a subdomain to your existing website. If you create the sub domain blog then that will give you the web address blog.mydomain.com.
  
  After doing this you then need to create the blog in this directory or if you are using a redirect then redirect this web address.
