First of all the masters of high speed internet are the physics labs CERN etc.

Second Japanese researchers achieved 100 TB per second - thats 100,000 gig per second over normal optical fiber a couple of years back.

So sadly CRS-3 achieves only 100-Gbit per sec 1000x lower than the potential speed achievable over fiber using quadrature amplitude modulation and slightly modified lasers.

With 100 TB internet we can have transferable virtual reality and true internet grid supercomputing.

100 GB does not change the world, 100 TB does.

I do have a prediction - Google sometime soon will seriously take on television as a deliberate venture - maybe in 5 years or so.

They claim over 300 TB capacity for the device...

"Cisco's CRS-3 family offers what Cisco claims is 12 times the traffic capacity as the nearest competing system, boasting 322 Terabits-per-second performance."

But if a single fiber can carry 100 TB direct to the home user what capacity is required of routers and switching gear ?

This is after all a core router.

They are creating a hype on the product. Actually this won't create more impact on the existing speed.
