This guy is really invincible! Gave Clottey a lot of beating.

Though Clottey also was a great fighter, gave Manny bruises all
over the face. Still in the end Manny was the greater of the two!

Great Job Manny Pacquiao! Mabuhay!!!!!!

Yeah, it was a good one. Clottey seemed to be restrained for much of it but Pacman was fast as heck! Clottey is a tough dude for sure! Looking forward to Mayweather/Mosley in May.

      Have you gone blind.

If Manny can't stop someone like Clotty from hitting him 100's of times, think of what Mayweather will do to him and...

      Mayweather does not get hit.

I respect Manny, but he better steer clear of Mayweather or he will be exposed.

Everybody thought Mayweather would completely run over a shot inactive Oscar De La Hoya back in their summer 2007 so-called dream match. Mayweather nicked it with a Split Decision in a boring fight which even Mayweather's own dad thought De La Hoya won.
I think there's a reason why Mayweather has been hand picking his opposition lately, and a lot of the guys he's been fighting have been coming up in weight to meet him including Hatton who had no business fighting at 147, to Juan Manuel Marquez who jumped up 2 weight classes to meet Mayweather(who came in 2lbs over the agreed limit and gladly paid the $400K fine).
Clottey did well but at the same time, Clottey has a chin of iron. Floyd isn't so keen on fighting Pacman IMO. If he was, the fight would have been made instantly.
Also, I had Mayweather lose to Castillo in their first fight. I also think he's going to have a very serious challenge from Shane Mosley when they meet in May.

Yeah John, I think the world is waiting for that fight. Hope we get to see
      it in the near future.

It was because Clottey had his "turtle" defense on most of the time.
I think he knew from the start that he won't be able to match Manny's
skills so he just protected himself and planned to end the game
standing up instead of going out of the ring in a stretcher

I think right now Manny is the greatest fighter who ever lived

Whoa, calm down. He's quite likely the best in the game right now, but the best that ever lived?

From your pic, you don't look old enough to have seen Ali in his prime. The Ali-Frazier fights are classics, including the "Thrilla in Manila".

Ray Leonard held titles in, I believe, five different weight classes, including a couple of different ones at the same time as I recall

Marciano was just about unstoppable in his time, too.

It would be great to see what some of the computer simulations try to emulate - each of the greats, in their prime, squaring off against each other.

I think you mean Sugar Ray Robinson. The original Sugar Ray, was the best pound for pound of all time, IMO. Leonard did hold multiple titles, as did Robinson, but when Robinson did it there were only 8 weight divisions and one champ for each.

Now we have 17 weights, plus the WBA, WBC, IBF, IBO and WBO. That's a total of 85 recognized "belts" (I think). Robinson did it when there were only 8 possible belts, which is totally different than champs that held multiple belts for the past 30 years.

I did mean Leonard, but I'd sure have a hard time arguing with what you are saying...

I say if Manny smashes Mayweather and Mosley, then he deserves to be in the books as one of the tops. Right now, hard to say. There were so many great fighters in the past whom you never saw fight at the time. You have to live through the times to truly appreciate them. Watching their fights on ESPN Classic just isn't the same at all.

It was a boring fight though, i was really disappointed. Clottey only threw 300+ punches compared to Pacquiao's 1230 punches.

Way to go Pacman! I watched the fight and found it boring too because Clottey 'fight' as much as Manny did.
