Where can I incorporate/get a business license?
So I was thinking about getting a business license and an incorporation for the obvious tax benefits, but California and especially San Francisco HATES business owners. Is it possible to get a license and incorporate if I don't live in that state?
The reason is that San Francisco has ridiculous taxes on just about everything. It even has a universal health care in the city that makes you either provide healthcare and if your employees opt out of it, (my business would utilize contractors who don't get health benefits) they make you pay the city to provide health care to citizens who don't even work for you. So reasons aside, is it possible to set up the corporation somewhere more business friendly like Texas or Oregon while still operating in San Francisco? Since many companies here started in other places like new york or LA, I would assume that something like that would be worked out.
