Hi Warriors,

Here in our country not much about Lists....

There is a current thread in the Main forum asking the question do Safelists works...
as per my knowledge as read here in WF they don;t... because i cannot know for sure
as i have not used them so i did not posted there...but this question just came into my
mind..i thought i should ask...

Is there any particular reason these lists are called SAFE-LISTS

Am i correct that safelists are list of emails/names collected by some third party
and available to be rented or sold ...so the new buyer can send them mass emails...is it correct?

Thanks Warriors, members of "My Direct Marketing University! (Warrior Forum)"

Because they are safe to send offers to without fear of being reported to spamming

WRONG! THEN they would be called ILLEGAL LISTS AND A GREAT WAY TO LOSE MONEY!

The ORIGINAL reason behind safelists is that you join them to email your offer to others. The CATCH is that others can email you THEIR offers. Since it is all done by the SAME email address, you can't REALLY complain about periodic mailings because you have a business interest. Likewise, OTHERS can't either. So they are "SAFE"!

The problem is that NOBODY wants to read them, and the only REAL demographic is likely to be internet marketing.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks a lot for correcting me on this.

So can i say that someone who bought thousands of names/emails on a CD maybe called as safelist is not a safe list at all but a spam/junk list (illegal to market)...
is it right or there is something which I am still missing..

Thanks for your time and input,
    Mohsin
