Default Massachusetts in state of emergency

Once again, we have been pummeled by a north-easter with 60 mph wind gusts and between 6-10 inches of rain since Saturday. Power has been intermittent here (better than losing it for almost 4 days like we did a couple weeks ago).

Flooding is happening all over the state but especially on the north shore. We have water in the basement again (just barely got it dried out from last time). This time it was the entire basement - we still don't know what we may lose.

I'm ready for spring.

That's awful! We lost power for 3 days back in August 2003. It was actually kind of fun just sitting around especially at night with candles and just reading books with the moon being our only small source of light(I think the street lights were gone too). No computers, no tvs, nothing. Maybe the olden days(pre-technology) weren't so bad afterall. Then again, this was in the summer. Void of the brutal rain which you're encountering right now.
Good luck, hope you don't lose too much!

I feel for ya - saw some video of the water and it looked pretty bad in some places.

We had the first beautiful spring day to day - and I've been working on my computer since 7 am! Arrrrgggghhh

I'm doing an almost all-nighter to finish this project so I can enjoy the next couple of nice days outside! It'll be worth it.

I was stuck in Princeton for 2.5 hours yesterday. It looks like a war zone around here, its crazy. Trees are uprooted and taking out power-lines and more tragically, people, all over the place.

Luckily I wasn't around this past weekend so I didn't have to experience the 'unnamed hurricane'. The ground was extremely soft from the insane amounts of snow and then heat that melted the snow and then more rain in a few days than we normally get in months. Add 50+ winds to that, and this is the mess your left with.

Oh for cripes sakes, Tina - would you stop playing in the water and get back to business - deadlines, girl, deadlines.

I sure hope you are on the edge of that stuff and not in the middle of it! Stay high and dry, girl. Godspeed. You are in my thoughts.

So was a lot of Quincy and several other towns. Insane, wasn't it? I don't think it would have been so bad if it weren't for the leftover water from that last storm only two weeks ago.

Sadly, there isn't much beach left where I am, though. Storms the past few years had already eroded a lot of it and these last two took several feet off what was left.

The one bright spot is that maybe it will slow the tourists down this summer. I can live without the added traffic and the idiots tossing their trash onto our front lawn.

Stay high and dry Tina - this too shall pass.

I guess I won't complain about a nearly seasonless environment here on the left coast. We are getting some badly needed rain and probably a little too much off and on - (landslides, trees uprooting, etc) but those are one-off.

Looking like Spring here I guess, with some clouds...
