My Fellow Very Busy Marketers, What Do You Do Regularly to Stay Healthy?

I have read posts upon posts on how people stay awake till 12 midnight, 1 am, 2 am...working in order to make ends meet.

But, does it not affect those people's health?

Well, I have not been "seriously" sick for over 17 years now so I don't think I still know exactly how it feels to fall sick.

However, I know that a seriously sick person may not be able to do any business throughout the duration of the sickness. So, it might be a wise decision to carry out one or two healthy tips, such as taking an exercise, regularly in order to maintain a clean bill of health.

As for me, one of the things that have kept me going, apart from the fact that I know that God has given me the rare privilege to be very healthy all these years, is the fact that I have fresh flowers around my house. And whenever I look at them I feel somehow terrific. I can't really explain the feeling but I think having a natural vegetation around where you stay is medicinal though I'm not a medical doctor.

Also, I take a deep breath every hour, no matter where I am, in order to take in fresh air into my system and flush out expired air.

Finally, I take a walk for 30-60 minutes every evening.

These three things have really helped me.

What do you do regularly to stay healthy?

Keeping healthy is important and this job can become an unhealthy one very quickly.

I go running and play football (soccer) at least 4 times a week!

That keeps me ticking over nicely! Also its good for taking the mind off of marketing for a while, sometimes a break yields stronger results!

I can say I have been 'obsessed' with IM since I got turned on to it about 6 months ago.

Getting up extra early, working a day job and then working at night on IM.

I actually have it planned to start hitting the gym tonight with a good buddy.

Sitting in front of a computer for 12 to 15 hours a day is a quick start guide to really letting yourself slip.

Find some time, even if it is 20 or 30 minutes to do some type of exercising.

No matter how busy I am, no matter what my work load it - I never trade my morning exercise for anything!

That is my sacred time. I feel out of balance if I do not exercise in the morning - even a simple walk down to my local beach and back (stop off for breakfast and admire the view) is enough. And then more full on gym or yoga workouts alternating days.

Getting at least 8 hours sleep is also paramount and eating healthily.

I will never trade my health for work.

I am the reverse of most internet marketers and I get up at 5.30am every morning by choice, and crash early the other end.

I can not say strongly enough - your health and respecting and nurturing it is so important - it is the engine room for your performance.

Healthy & happy thoughts and laughing a lot each day is also part of my routine - sort of happens naturally. And if I fall into not such a great space, I sit down and write out everything I have to be grateful for, and will also take a walk to somewhere that pleases me - my local beach.

      Caro :-)

I go for light jogs everyday and when I wake up in the morning I like to do the 7 tibetan rites. Well, actually I only do 5 of them. Then, I do some stretches.

After I have been working for awhile I like to get up and move around to relieve stress and get the blood flowing. What I like to do is throw 50 punches with each arm.

Also, I eat pretty healthy and take my one a day vitamins.

This can be a pretty stressful career at times so I like to burn aromatherapy stress candles as I work to keep my mind and body calm.

You should try these things and I bet you feel great. I used to get really stressed out and I would have anxiety attacks quite often but when I started doing these things I calmed down a lot.

I still work long hours online but I don't really feel it anymore. I feel great!

P.S. - If you don't know what the tibetan rights are, give it a google.

I do a lot of sports and TRY to stawy away from junk food. Also I try to get 7-8 hours of sleep per day and have Vitamin C + 1 A-Z multivitamin.

I'd say staying healthy is one of the most important aspects of IM. Without energy, you cant get any work done anyway!

I like this thread. Your health and fitness is something that should always be worked on...how else can you enjoy building an internet empire and enjoying the lifestyle with it

Twice a day I do 30 minutes meditation and visualisation of my main goals and ideals... Meditation has incredible benefits.

I train Wing Tsun Kung Fu 3 times/week with 2 hour sessions each. I combine this with various cardio exercises and strength training. And joint rotations and stretches every morning.

Let's not forget plenty of fruit, vegetables and fresh water daily.

This keeps me in top form and feeling awesome every single day

Yeah stay fit guys. Health is one of the most important things, but we take it for granted until you get ill.

I speak from experience and your whole life collapse if you get seriously ill. You can't do anything. You have to focus your whole energy into recovery and it dains you. No energy left for business.

Thats why eat healthy food, healthy meals.
Do exercise (you can do some basic exercise at home, but go to the gym if you can, you will feel so much more empowered after good session).
And do some other stuff that relaxes you and can help you stay fit (I go cycling almost every day if the weather is nice).

I go to the gym every single day only take a day off..

Go for runs, lift weights - I work less and make more money. I also eat healthy, I avoid eating or drinking at my desk..

Too many marketers sit on their computer till 4 am at night and their health gets worser.

Health is important. I would rather be healthy then rich. Why?

    Money comes and goes.

    Health doesn't.

I actually have a thread started about this, http://www.warriorforum.com/mind-war...worth-you.html

If you do not have your health, you will never be able to enjoy your riches. First and foremost, you need to take care of your body. Get plenty of exercise and eat the right type of whole foods.

      You are spot on.

As far as I'm concerned, if you are not healthy, you are not wealthy because one serious ailment can sweep away your riches.

Being healthy is much more then taking care of your body, you also need to nuture your mind and soul. Reading something positive or interesting daily, finding time to either meditate or do affirmations. Also taking some time each day for you, doing something you love to do, and be with the people you care about.

Taking breaks every 3 hours to eat a healthy meal (I almost only eat organic, locally grown food nowadays), drink some clean water or freshly squeezed juices, helps to keep my body and mind in peak performance .

Besides going to the gym to weight train, swimming, martial arts and rock climbing, I do a morning ritual of yoga and affirmations which i find is the foundation of my entire day.

Also getting out a few times a week to socialize with friends and family. Its all about learning how to balance everything in your life, since prosperity is much more than money, as Imran said "money comes and goes, health doesnt"

I didn't used to do anything. I would spend hours sitting at the screen, working away.

On New Years Day I woke up feeling unwell. I had a burning in my chest. By mid afternoon it was really bad and I had pain in my arm and neck too. As it carried on getting worse I got scared. Eventually I knew I had to go to hospital where they diagnosed a Heart Attack. I had a stent inserted immediately and was discharged home after 2 days.

As part of my rehabilitation I have to walk for a minimum 30 minutes at a pace fast enough to make me breathless every day. This walking thing is easy and cheap and is the best thing anybody can do to keep their heart healthy, oh, and give up smoking.

I spend A LOT of time out with the kids. We try and take a walk every afternoon, and weekends are spent pretty much completely out of the house.

I also eat quite healthy and try my best to get around 7 hours sleep a night.

AND we don't own a car. We walk EVERYWHERE.

This winter has made it a lot easier as it has been so warm, and pretty much all the snow is gone already.

I have to say, my husband stays awake and works for way too many hours as a webmaster. In my house we try to eat organic as much as we can afford it, we used to go regularly to the gym, but decided to cut back on expenses so we try to go walking every night or every other night for an hour.

Being an internet marketer and a webmaster is a very sedentary job, so we all need to get up, stretch, move about and maybe even dance a little once in a while...

bought this book probably about 2 years ago, did not do sh*t about it. In a cleaning spree, ran across it again. Google "8 minutes in the morning" by Jorge Cruise. Reading it for the second time, IT IS GOLD.

Aerobics sucks. Follow this guys advice and you will thank me forever.

Besides that, DO NOT EVER BUY PROCESSED FOOD. That means anything in a box.

I think the Wii Fit is a necessity. America's cure to obesity! Get fit while having fun playing video games in your own living room. If that doesn't make you more active, nothing will.
I also remember back when I was a kid in 7th grade, I used to walk around during recess and lunch time with my football(soccer ball to Americans :p). Basically all I'd do is walk around the entire lunch hour, trying to put together a group for a little kick around on the pitch.
Nobody ever wanted to play. Furthermore, few kids every played anything. They just walked around or played stupid games in their own little groups which required little physical effort. Just didn't see much physical activity from kids in general other than during phys.ed.
I just wonder if that's a trend everywhere and not just during my days in school. Not surprising that people are getting fatter in North America.

I eat very healthy and I haven't been ill in a very long time as a result.

          I also take breaks often.

Lastly one thing I do need to work on is my posture. So this is what I am working on at the moment . I think posture can cause so many problems and I know I constantly have tense shoulders so I want to be out of it for good.

I also eat a healthy breakfast of grain cereal with fruit and limit my coffee in take to one cup daily.
At least once an hour, I take a break from the computer and stretch and totally take a 5 - 10 minute break and think of other things.

        Very important topic.

Anyone who sends me a pm I'll give free lifetime membership to my site undersizeme.com (there's nothing to sell you there just resources).

A rundown of things you could do:

        # Exercise first thing in the morning before doing anything else for 30-50 minutes.

        # Practice good dental hygiene (clean your teeth several times a day, floss, use mouthwash)

        # Do facial dips once or twice a day and practice good hand hygiene (that will eliminate 80%+ of respiratory viruses and colds you catch and help you live longer).

        # Eat a diet that is well balanced in low glycemic carbohydrates, low fat protein and good fats.

        In particular:

Eat low glycemic fruit and vegetables as your main source of carbohydrates and have good fats like nuts, olive oil, avocado etc with every meal and snack. Also have low fat protein with every meal and snack.

        # Drink water. Not soda, fruit juice, coffee or alcohol...just good old fashioned water.

        # Most people should add tiny amounts of vitamin C powder to their water (4-12 100mg to 250mg doses spread out during the day).

        # For many people supplementing with pharmaceutical grade fish oil is a huge advantage.

        # Exercise a second time every day for 10 minutes+ (over 30 minutes if you want to lose weight). Exercising around 8 hours after you get up is usually good timing.

        # Get plenty of high quality sleep in a room that is as dark as you can possibly make it.

        # Get some sunshine (or at least bright lights) and exercise when you wake up in the morning. This helps reset your body's clock which runs on a 25 hour cycle unless you reset it.

        # Take steps to deal with your emotional health (EFT is good free and simple but if you have more complex problems you may want to seek out a skilled professional to help you.)

        # Do things you love every day. Go back to laughing, having fun and spending time talking with and enjoying your friends and family.

        Kindest regards,
        Andrew Cavanagh

Luckily I work in a building where the YWCA is.

    Monday, swim 50 lengths
    Tuesday, muscle sculpt class
Wed, gym (treadmill, elliptical and stairmaster)
Thurs, power walk along the river, 1 hr, or swim again
Fri, ZUMBA! Great way to end the week.

For the most part, I'm 5 for 5.

Definately need more sleep, as I was burning the midnite oil, but now am forcing myself to be in bed by 1:00 a.m. (instead of 3:00!)

Also, bake a bulb of garlic regularly, and eat every clove (doesn't burn) great for the immune system, high blood pressure, and anti-viral, fungal, anti-everything!

Use olive oil, cinnamon, paprika, and to restore proper alkaline balance the quickest, use lemon
(#1) wherever you can, and watermelon (#2)

Visualize! Plan your day out in your mind or at least plan to be positive.....believe me, your cells are awaiting your next instructions....what are you telling yours?

    Cheers,
    Terri

Wow, it's so funny how things work. Yesterday I was thinking about this very topic. Since I became involved I IM, I've neglected to excercises due to the lack of time that I have between my job, the kids and runnin a business, I find myself being one of those that burns the midnight oil. Working till 3or 4am to get things done. I will definitely be putting getting in shape back on my high priority list.

I very rarely eat red meat. I eat enough veggies and fruits. I drink an ok amount of water I guess. In terms of exercise I practice Wushu and I weightlift. My body is excellent.

On Tony Robbin's "Get The Edge" he talks about alkaline vs. acidity and it's an interesting listen. I suggest looking it up.

        lol @ Chambers.

Anyways, as pewpin just mentioned about alkalinity vs. acidity.... Just know that disease, and cancer, in particular, CANNOT survive in an alkaline environment. That is why I suggest the lemon and watermelon as they are the #1 and #2 ways to return your body to an alkaline state.

Use lemon in your water, tea, on fish, salad, better stop, my mouth is going crazee.

        Cheers,
        Terri

I do find it odd that many of the big name, longstanding Warriors have not posted here. Maybe their too busy fixing up their squeeze Pages to exercise or find time to Post here on what they do for exercise !!

Yeah I agree, the guy who brought Jit jitsu to brazil got his butt kicked by a Judoka in front of his own people, and the porn star Ron has one of the biggest bellies in the I-have-a-big-belly community.

I used to be a bodybuilder and a martial artist (once you are one you are one forever) as younger, if I had known back then that all my muscles were going to go to heck the way they did I would not have put on all the hard work (life is not fair), of course, it has been a loooooooooong while (no I won't tell you my age)

I've been going to the gym for over 20 years... I'm 49. But I've done basically the same simple routine all that time: Treadmill or bicycle 20 minutes... light weights or weight machine. BUT in my opinion, what has the BIGGEST impact on ME... is DIET. I try to follow a high-lean-protein and moderate carbs. Easy on the bread, rice & potatoes. Similar to a South Beach kind of diet or highly modified Atkins program.

I firmly believe that our health is the only thing we really have. Think about it, would you trade your eyesight/arm etc for a Billion dollars. NO Fing WAY.

So you need to dedicat atleast 10 hours a week to your body. I play tennis + go gym 5 times a week and it keeps me healthy and fit.

Don't laugh: I count on the flu every year to lose a few pounds (and was startled to find out the star in Devil Wears Prada does the same).

But it always comes back (surprise, surprise). So last summer, after losing 4-5 pounds from a very nasty bout...I took advantage of the hot weather and started having smoothies for lunch and bread salad for dinner (that's salad with bitefuls of grilled garlic Italian bread tossed in).

It's almost effortless to follow a regimen like that when the weather is hot and sticky.

I started running errands on foot. I lived near a bike path so that made it EASY.

I lost a good 10 pounds from that and have kept it off.

In terms of a real exercise regimen, I do theraband resistance right now (in lieu of weights).

In winter I have a teaspoon of lemon flavored cod liver oil every day. And I am an avid chia seed fan. I heard about those from Dr. Oz--and they apparently have all the omegas that flax and fish plus calcium, fiber, vitamin b and other nutrients.

Beyond that, I eat like the French do...small portions of whatever I want.

I should be eating more fruit though.
