G'day, Anybody got any recommendations because quite frankly I am sick of all this Britney Spears synthesized teeny bopper crap. I cant believe some of the crap that gets put out and the crap artists who make these who got contracts in the first place while there are so many talented singers and bands out there who wont get record gigs for whatever marketing reason. Can't go wrong with KC and the Sunshine band. If you dont want to get down when listening to Boogie Man...something may be wrong with you. |

The only good band today is Journey. Back in the 80's, man, there's Bryan Adams, Phil Collins, the Outfield, Atlantic Starr, and my personal favorite, Dan Fogelberg. I've loved his music since I was 12 years old.

There is stuff that's generally marketed in a niche called "classical" ![]() One dude I like to listen to goes under the name of "Mozart"... he'll keep you busy for a year or two. If that's not to your liking, check out an album called "Abbey Road" and try to figure out how many music styles these guys anticipated on that album alone. Or don some really good headphones, put on Pink Floyd, relax and enjoy the trip. Am I showing my age :-(? | |

Truly, it's in the ear of the listener. Some of the most sublime stuff, I've heard it slagged. I'm tempted to say you can't go wrong with Classical, starting with the popular classics

I've got about 8 gigs of music... I might have some suggestions, but it'd depend on your taste.

A buddy introduced me to Paper Tongues last night. They have a pretty decent song called 'riding to california' that a mix of rock/hip hop thats actually pretty decent. p.s. on a related note, my best friend's son is turning 14 today, and he's a big fan of a band called Alesana. If you've never heard them its a screamo band...they lament on the trials and tribulations of being a 20 something rock star...because thats pretty tough you know...while screaming a good portion of their lyrics. My buddy talked me into going to take his son there because he didnt want to be the only creepy old guy at the concert. I'm betting 90% of the crowd is under 18. He will owe me big for this. |
