So Mike do the words BITE MY SHINY METAL ASS have any meaning to you?
I'll be out in a couple of days, going into the 60's here by Friday.
I've seen people out riding for the last couple of weeks here, but I got a feeling they are doing way more drugs then I am or I'm getting to old to be a tough guy anymore

LoL!

Im just hoping my battery isn't completely dead. The old girl has been sitting for a bit due to bad tires and lack of funding. I was going to take it down to get tires put on yesterday but the battery had ran down and i had to jump it, so i took it out for a spin hoping to charge the battery up and it just didnt do it. I've had it on a charger all night long, so I'm hoping that it doesnt need a new battery too. I was a dummy and didnt havt a trickle charger on it when it was cold and sitting

Sounds familiar. Last year I had a rear axle issue that took me a month to save the money for. Then it was a flat tire in Aug. that took me out for a month.

As for the battery, I'm still running the original, been 5 years and it's never been on a charger. Still starts the bike, but I'll be getting a new one in a couple of weeks. Planning on a run to the Tail of the Dragon in the fall and I know the battery will die then if not before.

Hey Thom - here is another one to make you GREEEEEN with envy.

I took my son out for dinner the other night because I was in his town on business. Most of the time between bytes, he was looking through the paper and making cell phone calls (dontcha just love 'family time')

The dude was comparing prices in the ads at the pot dispenseries - sitting with his little safe card in his pocket (pot script=$150). High grade to low grade, color pictures, etc.

Then he was calling them to ask questions as he went page after page after ad after ad (he cracks me up trying to get a special deal not advertised "I really like bonuses" - like wahoo we'll run right out and change everything).

The only thing he said to me the whole time was 'Mom, can you believe we are sitting here and I am doing this? What a wonderful life'.

(he did say I looked nice and he was proud of me when we hugged in front of our cars) yeh he noticed I was there, among the flower tops.

That's good Pat
There are a few states here that are looking into legalizing, I here NY has something in the works they will be voting on this fall.
One of the silver linings in this sucky economy is more and more states are looking at legalizing and taxing as a way to generate money and cut expenses.
Even the feds are having the pressure put on them.
So far every time O has had a poll on his site about the top concerns of the public, legalization is always the top 3 questions. Well 2 are, the third is why he keeps ignoring the other top 2.
Personally I see legalization as a first step for them in stopping being stupid.
I don't see legalization really effecting my day to day life.

Dunno, Thom - I see the dispenseries and licenses as something a bit more feasible than all out legalization. There are far too many ignorant people who would not get their head around a 'free for all' - at least the dispenseries/licenses give the appearance of strong control.

I am so for this and getting the criminal element away from this scenario. Big difference going shopping from your local paper than dealing with God knows who or what will happen to you - or how many people were killed by the smugglers we are supporting.

The paranoia of the whole ordeal and even the fact that you can't let on that you are ripped pretty much has always been a bad bring down bummer. Especially for an otherwise law abiding citizen.

I am the perfect person that deserves a script - can't take any drugs stronger than ibuprofen without getting physically sick, can't drink much, and shouldn't drink ever, can't sleep to save my life most nights, and have more anxiety than 99% of people on suicide watch - oh wait pot exaggerates that part...

I've never run dunlops, no reason just haven't tried them yet.
I have been running Metzlers for a little over 2 years now and I like them.
I've got 11,000 on the front and it's holding up good.
The rear I put a shark toothed shape stop into last summer on the top of Poesentkill (sp) mt. I rode that sucker for 20 miles before I knew it was flat, and that was on twisties. I pulled into a convenient store to put air in it and it was flat again before I made the 3 miles to home.
At the store and home I checked the pressure and it was 10#. Rode pretty good for a flat

I've only had one flat so far and it was scary. Big bikes get hairy when the tires go flat.

The last set i think died due to pressure. the back had a bald strip that started in the center and spread pretty quick, the front had just one side that started getting a 'wave' around it, like cupping almost, but a bunch of individual cups.

This area seems to have a weird effect on tires because of crowning in the roads. Its normal to have one side damn near bald (usually the right side if you're looking at the bike from the front) and the other side be just fine

I know, I've never had a flat act that way.
In some of the slower turns it shimmied, but it felt like it was in the front end.
Needless to say the slower I went the worse it got.
In fact when I stopped the first things I checked where the neck bearings and front tire. I just happened to look at the rear and thought it looked low.
When I put the gauge on it it read 10# and when I put air in you could hear it coming right out.

Yep Fl. has got some roads Only place I know where to climb a hill means going from the edge of the road to the center.

I got a new battery yesterday, put it in and decided i'd take it out for a spin last night. Apparently I didnt hook the battery cover in and it popped off. I heard it hit so I turned around, saw it sitting in the street, pulled up in a parking lot next too it, dropped the stand and was just in time to see a truck turn it to chrome dust.
