I bought a hair clipper just 2 weeks ago for my personal use but did not check whether it has a warranty. Now, it's damaged but I can't repair or replace it because I bought it without a warranty. So, my decision right now is to always make sure that any product I buy, especially electronic gadgets, must have a warranty or else is not ideal for me. Secondly, the product must have a "Customer Care Center" in Nigeria, where I can easily go to get it repaired or replaced, or else I will not buy it. I was such a fool! Now, I have to buy a new clipper. ![]() WARNING: Please check whether the offline product has a warranty before you buy it. And marketers, please stop selling products that don't come with a warranty because you will not sell anything if all customers are like me. |

Hmmm... For folks in Europe and North America at least this is not an issue (and I guess most of the world). Warranties are a legally mandated standard. It is somehow strange for me to think that one might buy a new product without a warranty. I guess in Nigeria that a warranty then becomes a selling point. In many places enhanced warranties are a selling point. A reminder to offer our site visitors/prospects the reassurance of warranties for our information products and software tools as well. We do not always know the market culture of our prospects but we should think about the 'maybe's' and 'what if's'. |
