    Hi Roger, welcome!

A little bit of advice about using the forum: You'll probably get more attention to your topic in the Main discussion forum - at the top of the list of forums. Also, posts there increase your post count. Off Topic posts aren't counted. After all, they're off topic! When your post count goes up, this will help people see that you're active here and ultimately let you use the private message feature.

Once you post a new topic (or find someone else's topic you like), use Thread Tools to subscribe. Then you can use User CP>Subscribed Threads to get back to the topic even if it scrolls off the busy front page. You can invent your own categories for subscriptions, for example I have one called Fun and another called Technology.

The place to start is by providing us with some information about your personality, interests and skills.

There are a hundred different techniques and business models that work for people who consistently follow through. If the technique isn't at least somewhat fun and interesting for you, you probably won't stay with it long enough to get results.

Spend some time learning about different techniques, then pick one and stay with it. But first, give yourself some time to explore.

Search for "information overload" and you'll find that your feelings are very common when people discover this gold mine.

I would hold on to your investment money for now. You can start with a free blog on Blogger or Squidoo. Later you'll probably want a hosting account with a free domain name, about $100 a year from companies like Bluehost and Hostgator. Additional domain names will be $10 a year. But there's no need to even spend that much until you have a strategy.

With your pocket change in pounds, I'd guess you're in the UK?

    Chris

Take a look in the programming and design forums here. Look at the kinds of questions that keep coming up. You might be able to offer some outsource services to other people who aren't as technical. This thread gave a brilliant strategy for service providers: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...th-beyond.html

I can only give you one advice, make sure you come in contact with some other IM people. public relations are the best to get you started.
