Interesting!

I think it's great to see an enlightened society accepting that gender is not as black and white as colonialist European attitudes try to make it out to be. Other cultures through history have seen gender as a continuum, and our Western attachment to the black and white categorization only causes us all harm as we strive to "be the gender we are", act feminine if we're female, or act masculine if we're male.

Funny how the only entity to deal with 'it' (not he, not she) in an adult manner is the entity that took its side.

As far as feeling some need to act according to some gender standard, I got three words for you...

If anyone should be insulted, it's Norrie May-Welbie. In the original article, he/she/it was thankful that the state could deal with the subject "in an adult manner". Implying that taking any other approach than granting what it wanted was childish.

As for my three words, I guess I should have quoted Zabrina's post, as that was what I was referring to.

Kim, unless you are a lesbian who has adopted a distinctly male image or a gay drag queen, you have nothing to worry about on this one.

Grammatically, if an entity isn't a 'he' and isn't a 'she', all that's left is 'it'...

I would guess whichever one is the closest - or has the fewest people waiting in line.

OK, based on statistics, that means that they will congregate near the MENS rooms until they reach critical mass and will THEN have to go to the women's rest rooms!

A woman once asked me what the secret was with the men's rooms. ALL the women's rooms had LONG lines, and all the men's rooms had SHORT lines. Well, men don't go as often, and urinating is often faster. There is probably less of a problem with a lot of clothing, and women may spend time fixing makeup, etc... So it is only reasonable that the lines at mens rooms would be shorter.
