I need a domain. That domain already owned by another one. When i see who is look up, i can see it expires in May month. The site not in use. I wan to buy. But i am not sure it will be dropped. Because if the owner has been done auto-renew facility, i can't get it.

How to check whether the domain is enabled to auto-renew or not?

As far as i know only the owner can check that. You have 3 options:
    1-Contact owner,make a offer
2-Waite till may, see if it goes to auction before it drops
3-Backorder the domain with Namejet,Pool,Snapnames etc. and hope you get it
    when it drops
    Cheers

Doesn't matter if that person is using it - he can still keep it whether it is on auto-renew or not.

You can make an offer to buy it or can place a back order in case he does not renew it.

try to get in touch with the owner by phone / email... if the contact info is invalid, then your only chance is to get it once it drops / auctioned off

    good luck

Well, there is ****NO**** possible way that verisign could EVER provide this facility for others, and they only control SOME TLDs. That right there tells you that it can't be possible on the FIRST level. If it were possible on the second level, we are now talking about many DOZENS of places. Still, THAT is not THE final arbiter. So NOW we are up to potentially THOUSANDS or maybe even MILLIONS. But THEY are not the final arbiter. THOSE systems may be off line, and we could be talking about BILLIONS! So I would say NOPE, there is NO way! BESIDES, even if NON of those autorenewed, the owner might just renew.

The advice already given to approach the owner with an offer is a good one. Don't make a ridiculous, super low offer--like $10-- or they will definitely ignore you. You could also say you're interested and ask the owner if they have a price to sell.

Keep in mind they may be more likely to renew the domain if you show you're interested in the domain, even if you don't get the domain. it makes the owner think the domain has potential.

The other option is to backorder the domain at the registrar the domain is registered at right now (for example, Go Daddy or Network Solutions). Then use another backorder service too, like Pool.com. It can be awhile before the domain drops even if the owner doesn't renew. Good luck to you!
