This lens got a purple star in Squidoo. What's your take on it.

It's a great thrill to be awarded a purple star and I now have 4. The latest was given for this lens and even I can't read it and not weep. So for all the silent victims out there I say thank you so much for those who have visited and rated this work and helped it to reach this point. I hope more will read it and take it to heart to do their utmost to change the way we treat some of our smallest and most vulnerable in our communities.

A little body and a big hit results in an awful lot of damage. A little heart and big pain makes for a disastrous future. A little mind and massive confusion makes life unbearable. But a little coffin and a forgotten life is a stigma the human race should never tolerate.

I first read this thread about six hours ago when, unable to sleep, I sought the computer as a late night friend. The reason I could not sleep was that all day I had been thinking of a infant foster child we had years ago.

At the age of four months her mother got angry with her crying during diaper changes---grabbed her feet and twisted outwards. Result was spiral fractures of BOTH femurs. If you ever have the need to witness pain, try to console a five month old baby encased in a full body cast. Absolute misery.

This baby was returned to the MATERNAL grandmother for custodial rights. This grandmother allowed the mother to visit, and on Easter day the mother killed her daughter because she was crying.

My wife and I did foster care for many abused children, and while this little lady will always be a teardrop in my mind----she was not the worse case we cared for.

It is obvious that these children are deep within your soul, and I must commend you for your work----and at the same time commiserate with you in the daily pain you feel.

Every response to this lens fills me with spiritual power because the Spirit knows the pain of little neglected children. In the last week a newborn baby was abandoned on the doorstep of a stranger's house and is now being put up for adoption. This is a far better outcome than parents keeping children who simply cannot cope with them.

Thank you for sharing this story. Unless and until we know the worst we cannot hope for the best. Without knowledge we cannot change anything. So it is my prayer that this message will go around and keep going until changes are made and society in general wakes up.

Wow, that was the most difficult reading material I've ever endured. It just makes me so angry and bewildered as to how anyone could behave in such a way to another human being - especially your own child.

When I first saw this lens, I noticed something strange about it...

This video is literally sitting in the MIDDLE of the lens. :confused::confused::confused:

I'm not even sure how that relates....but it's sitting in the middle of the lens. (I also read about this kind of stuff all the time, so that's why I noticed this sitting inside of there....because the rest of the content is nothing new to me).

It did. Now I am putting this video on the lens, if I can. Thank you for exposing it here. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, relatives and friends of little children who are abused or hurt in any way must be free to speak up and be heard. Help them who can't help themselves.

  I keep thinking of the emotional depths you must continually be in. I saw your statement about people sending you other videos and you wondered how to post them---the situation is sad enough without!
  
  This week I have also wondered just how much is too much (or not enough) in this area. For information purposes where do you place the line--- with the eight year old boy who was passed around between his father and two uncles to take the place of a blow up "girlfriend".
  
  Or the ten year old who was forced to sit in a corner (facing away from the tv) and had to ask for permission to go to the bathroom. When denied he had to pee where he was---then whipped for that act.
  
  Or the many many others that any one who has worked in this area could describe (and probably do in their sleep).
  
  Society seems continually to just create more carpets to sweep this mess under rather than finding a way to cure it.
  
  I think that just as with spousal abuse, child abuse flows through the generations. If only (that is a large IF ONLY) one generation could be skipped we may have a chance to at least partially eliminate this abuse.
  
  I know not how having my name attached will accomplish anything---but if it could only stop one act of violence then hire NASA and write my name throughout space!

Hi Gordon, no and yes. Emotional depths. I guess I feel for those in pain. As a spiritual person who knows that many things in this world are simply the product of man's imagination (religion being one) and that the world could be a much better place if only. But when a child is hurt something inside me screams enough.

You are right, I won't add anymore to that lens. I think it has accomplished its purpose. What do you think of this one . I will be interested in your response.
