Warrior Forum Can I offer some constructive criticism?

A warrior that I have bought from PM'd me and I tried to reply, but the system will not allow me to as I have not made 50 post's.

Can I ask why that rule is in place?

What does the forum think I'm likely to do via PM that could be so bad?

Very weird, maybe a small limit like 10 or so is one thing, but 50 is a little harsh IMO.

Also I feel that anyone regardless of the number of post's should be allowed to "reply" to one, even if not allowed to actually send an unsolicited PM.

Anyaway got that off my chest. That apart I'm loving the forum.

      typed in "PM 50 posts" and "Private Message" got nothing of any use in the first page of results.

      Although if you do the search now my thread comes up!

      So it may be beautiful but not so functional, as it doesn't appear to list in terms of relevance but date.

        The reason is because of spammers joining just to spam members by pm.
        Having a less post requirement made it to easy for them to join, rapid post and then spam.

        The reason Kim said to use the search is because this question comes up weekly.
        The answer should of came right up, I'm surprised.

          The posts rarely say what they're complaining about in the title which is probably why it won't come up in search.

          Of course, with a forum this large and busy, you really do have to scroll back a few pages, not just one.

            Thank you both for your replies.

            I wish I hadn't posted the thread now, as I've just spotted another thread on the same subject and the guy has been banned.

            Hopefully the moderator who decides these things will appreciate that I was not trying to send an unsolicited PM to anyone. I was merely frustrated that having paid someone $150 for a service I was unable to reply to a PM he sent to me.

              Yeah but the one who was banned called the forum gay if I recall right.

    You require 50 posts because this helps to ensure you're productive and aren't going to be bothersom/spammy/irritating.

    You should not PM until you've made friends in a sense. You can't just PM somebody who's got 1000 posts and ask them a question.
