I use a Mac because it is extremely versatile. I can run Snow Leopard, Windows XP, Windows 7, and even Linux all simultaneously if I want to. This enables me to test everything I do for various operating systems so that all of my surfers are seeing the same thing. As far as day-to-day stuff is concerned, I prefer using a Mac because I like the interface better and everything just seems to work better, mostly.

Mac without a doubt. Sure, you're paying a premium when you go down that route, but it's worth it for the OS. Rather than go through the headaches of bluescreens, etc, my Mac just works.

Of course, Windows doesn't qualify as "hardware" ... I haven't really used OSX. I used several of the older versions of the Mac OS - at the time it was primitive, but it was a lot more secure than any version of Windows. And more companies write software for it than Linux or FreeBSD, though that may be shifting ...
