Is my signature within guidelines? If I mention affiliate products in the sig. and the link at the bottom is to my own web site. As I understand it this is Ok... Am I correct?

I don't want to get nipped, but as I understand it this is within the scope of warrior rules of conduct.. correct?

I especially appreciate feedback from moderators... Please let me know if I'm OK or if I need to change anything...

Best Regards,

    Best Regards,
You're best bet is to just read the forum rules man,

You shouldn't go by what other people say, I will not put a signature link
up until i completely understand the rules because i wont risk my account.

As it sits right now, it's fine.

        Carry on.

            SIGNATURE FILE RULES

Sig Files are getting out of hand.

We're getting all colors of the rainbow and some people are using massive fonts...comes a time when things need to get back into line so...

            NEW SIG FILE RULES

            (1) Maximum length of sig file is 5 lines which includes any blank lines used for spaces.

            (2) You are only permitted 1 color in your sig file, this can be any color so long as it's black (hyper links can be blue as they come up this way on the board)

            (3) Sig files may only be written in the normal standard font size.

            (4) You may bold or italicize but that's it.

            added by admin:

            (5) No Affiliate Links Allowed - Promote Your Own Domain/s Only. It's either this or we have to cut out sig files altogether which we do not want to do.

            (6) Anyone Caught Promoting The Same Site/Offer Will Be Deleted. Program owners are telling their members to come here and make posts to promote their offer in their sig files. This has caused tons of useless messages to be posted and it is clogging up the forum. Anyone caught doing this will have to be removed. This is not an ad forum - it is a discussion forum.

Edit: We have no problem with someone pointing to their WSO within their sig.

Edit: Due to certain people trying to find a loophole I needed to add yet another edit. Please do not try to get around these rules by getting your own domain name and simply redirecting it to an affiliate program. You Will Be Removed From Here When Caught.

If you want to promote an affiliate program do it on your own domain. Your own web site. Not a "pre-made" web site. Your own web site, a real one. Then put THAT web site in your sig file.

A simple way to stay within this rule is this: Promote Your Own Real Web Site And Do Not Listen To Anyone Who Tells You To Come Here Just To Promote A Site They Created For You.

Possibly a clarification... Here's the the rules listed above.... Below is example of the format i wanted to have in my sig file. I guess the question is can I mention the name of the affiliate offerings if my signature links to my web site which offers the affiliate products.

I don't want to beat this to death, however i like the forum and want to proceed without any worries and would liketo promo these items in my sig. file if that's ok...

            "Affiliate offer #1 best whatever"
            "Afilliate program name #2 "
            Affilaite Program name #3"

Frankly, I think the idea is to make it LEGITIMATELY look like your site(no frames), etc....

Your CURRENT one looked fine to me and, basically, Paul is the one that will react if you fail, and it looks fine to him. You should probably stay away from official names, and DEFINITELY DON'T provide affiliate links HERE. I don't think they are allowed ANYWHERE on this site, except, of course, the ones ALLEN puts up.

There WAS a popular site type that was made that many link to. Peolple would link to THEIR site, in their sig here, and IT would link to affiliate sites.

As for WHY this is done, it DOES limit those that advertise, and means that their preselling HERE is used to direct the customer to that site. You ALSO don't easily compete with the ORIGINAL author.

So a GENERAL site, like yours, that then links to affiliate sites, should be FINE! You should stay away from preselling SPECIFIC sites here that link to a specific affiliate site.

That is MY take anyway, and it makes sense.

I tried to add another line to my sig, making it 5 total.

I get a message saying it cannot be more than 6 and mine is wrapping in the TINY edit box they give you.

So I tried to copy and paste another Warrior's sig that he is using (he uses shorter lines) it still tells me I'm over the character limit or line limit; yet he gets away with it?

    Is there something I'm missing?

    thanks,
    Roger.

If it's over 5 lines - shorten it. Line spaces count so that may be the problem.

I think short, catchy signatures may get more attention than long, wordy ones.

I wonder what's the ratio on sig clicks? I mean for every 100 people that see your sig, how many do you think will click it?
