Those jerks have the nerve to charge $80 -$100,000 for a car... I'm talking about BMW and Mercedes. Can you imagine that.

Anyone can get a car for less than $20,000 brand new. If you buy one used you can get one for as low as $1,000. Buy some leather at the leather shop, get some paint at Maaco and you've got a car for a lot less.

Heck, you don't even need a car. You can get a motorcycle or even a bicycle for a lot less. Search around on craiglist or ebay and you'll find them cheap.

BMW charges $3,000 for a navigation system. You can get a GPS at dealnews for $100. How dare they charge so much.

Not only do they charge a lot, they have a whole bunch of dealers fooled into thinking a BMW or Mercedes is the way to go and they bribe them with a fat commission for selling them.

I've lost all respect for these yo yo's. They send me promo materials and I promptly get off their mailing list. I won't even look at a dealer sign along the road anymore.

Gosh dang.. $100,000 for a CAR!!!! What is next? Come on man..

I saw the thread title and wondered why Scott would tell us he pissed. Prostate problems? Nope, just making fun of whiners. Glad your prostates OK.

Edit: Ha! He edited the title while I was posting :-)

its not just the car you are paying for. its the engineers who made the car, its the labor that assembled it, and its the extra money so designers could get you the latest and most innovative product.

sure you can buy a used car for a lot less money but it lacks all of the above not to mention warranties and maintenance and financing

LOL - hell I bitch when I get skinned for $6.00 for a gallon of real milk. And I'm not bein' sarcastic. I am so cheap I squeak. And I LOVE my jeep. Unless it's a hummer I don't even know what people would DO with a 100,000K car. Some of em don't have clearance to get over speed bumps...now that worries me more than that people will spring that much for a stud mobile. Of course - those little Bentley sports are kinda kewl to tool around in for a few months a year.

Hey = it's only paper and plastic. When it's bars of silver and gold, then I'll think about it again. Maybe. I got what I want -- it's that dude's problem if he can't afford what he wants.

      Hey Sal,

I agree...I'd rather have my old Toy pick-up (that runs and rides like new + long bed /shell for work and play) and $99,000 left over after I paid for the pickup.

I like the room in a 4WD and have the shell for taking dogs with -- You should have that thing up up in the old cutting areas soon to collect wood. I used to collect several chords during the summer - back of the rig was always full of wood chips, but in the winter I would just sit nice and toasty in front of the fire with my Asti and look out the window at the snow on the mountains...and smile. 85K is a LOT of GAS, Kurt.....I'm havin' fun this summer - at $99K I'm betting at least you and I will have some stuff beyond the crypt to talk about this year, eh?

I have been spoiled but hell I have worked hard all my life and I just love new cars. I guess it is what you want in life. I have never owned a BMW or Merc but I have still owned some nice cars. I keep them about 5-6 years on average and then go and get a new one.I guess when I make so much money, in the future, I will have to make up my mind what my next car will be.

Heck, I once lived like 1/2 a mile from a rolls royce/bentley dealership. I actually went there after they came out with a CHEAPER line of cars. I believe they were rolls royces.

Those "CHEAP" cars were STILL in the 6 figure range as I recall. And that was over a DECADE ago! They ddn't have GPS, etc.... The money was ALL NAME, REP, STYLING, and trim.

As for GPS, they have come down FAST! Ones IN DASH are probably larger and with a few more features. ALSO, they are probably specially built. And THEN there is the union costs, and dealer commission. So you can probably EXPECT them to cost at least 6 times as much.

    We drive a 1973 "Broncosauris"!!!

It's really fun to tool around in (only in the warm months, of course)

I've had a BMW convertible before but this one is a "Classic" and has much more character.
