Hi

I hope someone can help me. I set up a website for my mate. It is a simple site, advertising his shale removal business.

A few days after I set it up (it was set up about 3 months ago) it started ranking in google for shale removal.

I also put a link to my site (shale-tests.co.uk)

It has stayed on page one of google since. - until now.

A few weeks ago I added a load of pictures of his work in zip file, and just after that I added his business to google maps.

That was a couple of weeks ago and today is the first time I have checked on his site since then.

It shows up in google maps, but there is no show on google organic pages.

I have even typed his full url into the google search box - still nothing.

The only thing that comes up is his ppc campaign and also a listing in a paid drectory.

If I type the url into the browser bar the site is live.

Can anyone tell me what has happened please, and how it can be sorted out

Google hasn't banned the site - it simply doesn't know/care that it exists. The organic search results have simply been replaced by more relevant sites because there has been no revision or addition to the text content of the site.

I found it on page 72 (out of 9,500 pages) of the reults in Spain.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

It is a very simple site and looking at the source code you have no meta tags in the header section. You need to add meta tags for description and keywords.

There are a few simple things you can add to the site to improve the ranking. Google like to see Terms & conditions, privacy statement, contact. Suggest you create a few simple extra pages for these items and link to them at the bottom of each page.
