419 Scammers tracked down in Nigeria!

This is so awesome! These people need to go to jail. I am tired of getting spammy emails that say "you won a million bucks" etc.. Yeah right.

I read something about a new Admin over there. Perhaps the new guys will be interested in cleaning up the country's rep. I hope other countries follow suit.

But - I have to say I don't feel sorry for anyone that gets caught in one of the "my loved one died" 419 scams. The authorities that question the victims find that they know that they are likely to have problems and set up new accounts for the money - just in case so their own accounts aren't compromised. They often claim they didn't know if it was legal or not (can you imagine anyone saying "yeah, I knew it wasn't). The "victims" are basically greed driven and don't check out what they are doing at all.

Mix a lack of common sense about the likelihood of being contacted by real people with those specific problems, and an insatiable greed that will allow them to do what they know "probably isn't" legal, how sorry for them can we feel?

Its good to see that they are making an effort to try to stop these scams, but hell it will probably hang around as long as the internet is around and people are dumb enough to send them money. Educate yourself, its your only real weapon.
