Another Travel MLM Busted
Ok, it's time for me to weigh in, give you the whole scoop as to why travel and MLM simply don't go together.
The reason MLM actually works in certain industries, is because believe it or not, it can (and does) capitalize on certain inefficiencies in a normal distribution chain for goods and services. Thus, it is actually possible to sell real retail goods to real customers (which is the definition of a legitimate business btw).
Here's the problem with doing this in the travel industry: Because of regulations (like servere penalties for ovebooking), and plain common sense (it makes zero sense for a hotel to rent the same room to several customers on the same night), travel is already sold directly to the public. Thus, there is no efficienty in a direct sales model of distrubution like MLM to be had in this industry. So why would you buy travel from an MLM distributor, when you can get the same or better deals (yes, I've checked this out myself) from websites like Travelocity and Orbitz?
So, if an MLM travel salesman can't sell retail, where do they make the money? By selling memberships only.
If all you are doing is selling memberships, then you are a pyramid scheme, case closed.
But don't believe me, check out this warning from ASTA, and see for yourself.

Want to get involved in MLM? Good for you, but at least do a modicrum of homework and research, so you don't fall for stuff like this.
PS: Anyone who is in MLM travel is welcome to challenge me. I'll use the top 5 travel sites, you use your back office. We post the actual retail price on this forum. The only restriction is we both fly out of the same airports, on the same dates. The first MLM'er to soundly beat me on price gets a new distributor.....me.
