It's a long weekend here in Canada, is it a normal Monday in the US?

    May 31st is a holiday - Memorial Day.

    I'm in the U.S. and not aware of any holiday that's celebrated on May 24th.

    I'm with Nonny on this one. HECK, some places in boston celebrate about 3 special holidays, but even THEY aren't celebrated now. I THINK THEY were LAST month.

    One thing is for sure, it is NOT a national holiday here. BTW the three I was talking about, for THIS area:

    Evacuation Day - March 17th (Suffolk County only) Mar. 17, Wed. Mar. 17, Thurs. Mar. 17, Sat. (3)
    Patriot’s Day - Third Monday in April Apr. 19, Mon. Apr. 18, Mon. Apr. 16, Mon.
    Bunker Hill Day - June 17th (Suffolk County only) June 17, Thurs. June 17, Fri. June 17, Sun.(3)

    So they kind of surround memorial day, which is the last monday in may.
