Sad to see anyone go, but the publicity surrounding his medical problems makes it seem a miracle he survived this long. Hope he's found comfort.

Very sad. He has had a tough life. His parents took all of his money that he made as a kid. A few years ago he was working as a security guard making $8 an hour. The paparazzi constantly humiliated him while he just tried to make a buck.

    42. That is about how old I was when I almost died.

I used to LOVE that show! I was sad to see all the bad things happen to all the kids that were in it. WHY are such lucky stars always prone to such problems? Gary was probably the most responsible and honest kid on the show(apparently dana was the worst, then tod, then gary) and even HE ended up in fights, suits, and now THIS!

And this was perhaps the ONLY show I saw that openly showed racism, etc... that I thought was well done, fair, reasonable, honest, and it got the point across.(The jeffersons, all in the family, goodtimes, etc... were all just too biased ) I LOVED the show where arnold was mistreated by a guy that later found that he lost the contract because arnold was drummands son! And I love the other point, where a black couple comes in, sees drummands place and calls it a nice little place. Drummand queries them confused, and they say that they sell oil barrels! It turns out they are richer than he is. And the whole drummand family blended and acted like they were a regular family. That was true even though willis was VERY suspicious on the first day.

RIP gary. I think I read somewhere though that he wasn't expected to live this long.

When they say he was a star of the 70's it makes me seem so old.

That is so sad. Especially that he never got the chance to have any peace. I hope he has some now.

The jefferson's, All in the family most definitely GOT the point across in a very humorous way and I STILL love to watch them over and over, even on YouTube and crack up laughing EVERY time! They were shows that tackled REAL issues that others wouldn't DARE touch and got the point across (at how ignorant racism, anti-feminism really was) without being offensive. Hmm, now you've got me having a hunger for some Archie Bunker! :-)~

Well, George jefferson was as bad as archie. And BOTH were just stupid racists. But I agree with everything else you said. Frankly, I liked both shows. Carrol O'conner was better than archie, and sherman was probably better than george.
