How Long Have You Been a Warrior

I believe I joined the original Warrior Marketing (or whatever the original membership site was called) in the late 90's. I wonder if their is any way to figure that out.

The forum wasn't nearly as big back then. I joined to get a bunch of ebooks, and I think it cost about $40. Is the old forum archived somewhere. I could go back and see when I posted my first post, that would have to be sometime after I joined.

    Justin,
My join date is July 2002,but like you and a few others I could name, joined way before that date.
As you said, it was a membership site at that time and I think most joined to get the ebooks and such, the forum was really just an added bonus. But as we all know, the ebooks have dissapeared and the forum is THE reason to be here.
(By the way, I'm pretty sure the files that were available back then are still available, but you will need the web address and the password, which I believe hasn't changed in all these years.)

Does anyone remember what that old URL was. I wish I had kept it. It would be fun to take a look back.

I remember another site I joined called Classified something (probably trying to ride on Don Lapre's coat tales). Does anyone remember that one?

I was recently watching the 2007 figure business videos that Mike Filsaime included in his OTO for Butterfly Source Files and Mike Describes his business journey. I realized I had watched the whole thing unfold over the years. By the way, that OTO is awesome and the 2007 figure business videos are very good. One of those videos was worth the whole cost of the package.

I wish I had spent more time taking FOCUSED action over the years instead of just watching the trends and tinkering with a few concepts, but I digress.

I was thinking of getting it, but I will save it for later when I will start making money off of my website.

          1997 or '98. I can't find the exact date.

James was one of the folks here before me, along with Bryan Kumar and Kenneth Tang. There are a fair chunk of people who've been here for at least 10 years.

Yep. Run by a fellow named Joshua Brown, if I recall correctly. And home to, among others, Charlie Brown's spammer forum. (Yes, that was the guy's real name.) That was the first serious bulker forum I was aware of.

That is not THE old forum. There was apparently a REALLY old one that is at a different address. It was mentioned elsewhere in this forum, and I don't think I was ever THERE, and then there were a couple versions that were found at The Warrior Forum that are obviously not there anymore, though I THINK the data might be there. I don't know if allen got TIRED of people trying to tell him how to setup the forum or if he always had plans to AGAIN monetize it, but, at some point, he got rid of the subdirectory specification.

Yeah, I don't think *I* ever went there either. I USED to be dead set against forums, having weaned myself off them in the early 80s! FUNNY, HUH? So it was a while before I clicked the link to come here.

I only remember 3. Uni-Sol, which I think used a custom script. The Snitz version, and the current incarnation. There have been auxiliary sites along the way, but they weren't forums. The special report site (Allen's version of an article directory), a URL tracking system with the unfortunate name "trackthi****.com," MyWarriorNetwork.com (a social networking site for Warriors, which never really took off, sad to say), and probably others I've forgotten.

The original private site is still out there, with most of the original downloads.

I was counting versions I considered distinct as well.

                The first one.
There actually WAS a non snitz one, as I recall, before snitz that wasn't the unisol.
The center two(snitz ones you just referred to)
                The last two(including this one)

Oh well, this one seems to have the most potential. And YEAH, there are LOTS of auxillary sites. You mentioned only a few. I don't think I EVER heard of mywarriornetwork. 8-( So YOU noticed the TTH problem also. Oh well, it is a popular word, and it may have gotten some HITS from THAT! 8-/ I thought it MUST have been intentional or something.

I don't consider different versions of the same software that use the same database of posts as different versions of the forum. That's a matter of semantics, though. You could look at it either way.

If there was something between Uni-Sol and Snitz, I don't remember it. Couldn't have been here too long, if at all. I thought we went right from Uni-sol to Snitz. Are you sure it wasn't just a different theme/skin?

No, it wasn't like I was taking notes. Maybee you're right. I just seem to remember wondering why they decided to go with snitz, as opposed to what they had.

I think there have been about 5 versions of this forum. Surprisingly, I think only perhaps the first, and the last 2, still exist. Of course, this is one of those 3! Yeah, I started with warriorpro also. The main attraction was that it had, and HAS, a TON of books, etc... Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated. 8-(

BTW I think THIS was ALWAYS called the warrior forum.

For me, it's ironic. I found the Warriors in 97 after searching for "reports cds" that contained 650 public domain, US gov reports to use as web content.

Included was a membership to the "craziest forum on the web". I checked it out a few times and only made a couple of posts. I didn't like the forum software at all and thought it was too "hard" to use.

I'd check back every once in a while and eventually the forum moved to the snitz platform, which I found much more user friendly.

Now the irony...I'm still in a constant search for content to use for web site content for SEO purposes. This strategy hasn't changed since 1997, tons of content has always been the #1 step in SEO. Only the vocabulary (PLR) and resources have changed.

Look at the poll results. 26% here for 10 years plus. I wouldn't have guessed that. I think it's a testimonial to the value of this site that once people show up they stick around. Also, it shows that the people who have been around longer probably check the site more often. In other words, maybe being an active warrior contributes directly to your bottom line, and your longevity in the business.

            Regards, Ken
It was NOT openly available! It was part of a PURCHASED site! It was NOT soliciting membership to the forum! It was a PRIVATE page that, as PART of it, INVITED members to the forum. well, at least SOME of the other links were disabled. As long as that is true of all, I guess nobody can really complain, but the concern should have been ALLENS, not mine. Of course, at this point, the information has been out so long, he likely won't care. He probably WOULD have earlier.

BTW some are even labeled like:

NOTE: This script is for Warriors personal use only. It may not be sold or given away to anyone. Any violations will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
Violating the integrity of security on that pages data makes such things a LEGAL concern of allens!

BTW at that point, the warriors forum waas NOT an open site. Granted, people could simply be told how to get there and, eventually, google found it and people came in, but originally it was a premium.

Steve, it seems like much ado about nothing.

"It was NOT openly available!" ( It is now.)

"It was NOT soliciting membership to the forum!" In fact it is one of the more
finely crafted solicitation pages you will ever see. The great tease and
              then the being told...

"Yes. EVERY product on the Warriors Secret site will be yours when you become a Warrior.

Click the browser Back key to return"

"I guess nobody can really complain" (Then why...)

"but the concern should have been ALLENS, not mine." (But you've chosen to make it yours)

"Of course, at this point, the information has been out so long, he likely won't care. He probably WOULD have earlier." It must be a wonderful thing, having such insight to the Masters mind.

"Violating the integrity of security on that pages data makes such things a LEGAL concern of Allens!" (All things on or about the warrior forum are
concerns for Allen and he has proven ability in handling them.)

I believe I've spent as much time on this subject as I care to.

                then the being told...

                Ken
Don't worry too much Ken. It's obvious Steve's spouting off (as always) without having actually checked the links you posted.

BTW some are even labeled like:

Violating the integrity of security on that pages data makes such things a LEGAL concern of allens!

BTW at that point, the warriors forum waas NOT an open site. Granted, people could simply be told how to get there and, eventually, google found it and people came in, but originally it was a premium.

From that standpoint, everyone who has been here for 10+ years probably paid for a lifetime membership, so we should be able to access this old site. When i access one of those links it asks for a username and password, the oldest one I remember doesn't work, and the other one shows the face of the site (interesting) but the links don't work.

I was happy to see the old site, maybe it would have been better to take a screen shot of it. I would imagine this is ethical depending on how well Ken knows Allen. If they're friends and Ken is sure Allen wouldn't be upset, it doesn't seem like a problem.

Where is Allen anyway? I thought he might weigh in on this post considering the content. Does he read/post in this forum anymore? Maybe he doesn't under a different screen name and he's already in the thread.

Yeah, I don't know HOW much I know, but it is a LOT! But I bet it is DWARFED by how much I forgot! 8-( And YEAH, age IS getting to me. When I was a kid, I could even tell you books that mentioned stuff I knew, and could sometimes quickly locate the page.

10 years ago I was up to date on the status of any program/application standard that had a chance, and up to date on the hardware currently out. A LOT has changed in the past 10 years! I know about SOME of it certainly, but NOT even all that is out.

Only a few years ago, at least with people I spoke to, I could tell you approximately what they knew about any portion of a topic we discussed.

NOW I am trying to catch up on some things that happened over the past 3 years I didn't keep abreast of. 8-(

I officially joined last month (May), but started visiting and reading last summer(2009). The discussions, and specials have really been extremely informative, helpful and high quality.

The community with fellow warriors has been very inclusive. Since I had purchased several WSO specials, I was on several Senior Warrior's lists. The robust discussions originally were a little spicy, but over time, I appreciated the level of accountability they created.

I realized, that it was time to officially join and continue to make this a regular part of my routine.

Aside from "Web 2.0" stuff, I doubt "Up To Date" ebooks offer anything really new. In fact, it's possible the 12 year olds may be better. Simply due to the quality of writing.

The basic principles of online marketing haven't changed, just some technology.

If the old secret site is gone,I don't know how long ago. I know it was still up around the time the last forum switch took place. I think I can even remember the passwords, but not 100% sure of that.

I've been a lurker for about a year, constantly paying attention to warrior special offers, but have finally started actively participating in conversations a few weeks ago.

I don't consider myself a Warrior. I consider myself a Warrior forum member.

One day. I will be a True Warrior.

My own definition of, to be more specific.
