Wife is going to interview for a VP position for a company next week, and from what I am hearing, it is very good news, and the CFO was really impressed with her, and has already set her up with a real estate agent.
Do you think she has a good chance?

I am very proud of her, she is very good at what she does, and since she was just laid off from her job, then a new door/opportunity has opened.

I have heard the life span of upper management like VP, CEO is just 2-3
years, do you guys agree with this...I hope not...

Don't know about the life span (but the talk of spam is making me hungry again).
Congratulations and good luck to you and your wife.

Not so sure about that. There are a lot of people who get stuck at VP for ever. For some it's a dead end.

I think her last job paid $35/40hr - so I wonder what she
will get as vp? What a wonderful dead end job...
I think getting a VP position within just a few short
years of managment exp is awesome...now if she
was wanting to reach higher such as CFO, CEO, etc,
then she would really need some years under her belt...

she is already surpassing her counter parts in the same
field, and they have lots of exp, and degrees, this tells
you she is very good at what she does....

my wife always aspires to do better then the next person...
she just does not show up for work, eat the morning donut,
be content with the job, do so-so work, thus never going anywhere, she
always aspires to do more at what she does...
