"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand?

I'm currently plugging my way through. It's very interesting and impressive, but at over 1000 pages, it's daunting. If you read it, how long did it take?

I read it back in the 1970's. It took four or five days.

I'm not a fast reader, I just get involved and don't stop until it's finished.

I had to read it once back in College and I have no clue any more what I read. I know I had sprint to get done with it in time. I've been thinking of reading it again lately since Rand is so heavily in the public consciousness again. Hopefully, it will be an easy read since it's the second time. I'm sure I'll remember parts when I see them again anyhow.

I also had to read War and Peace which is also 1000 some odd pages, and couldn't tell you much about that particular book either. LOL - That one hasn't made me want to read it again yet, though.

Since Dan Kennedy came out as a big fan it seems every IM'er claims we just HAVE to read this.

Well, I've tried several times (who says peer pressure if for the young?) and I've never made it very far - why? - its BORING.

While it might be a capitalistic manifesto, as a novel it just plain sucks, at least to me. It might get better in the middle - but having read some of the beginning and the ending - I just don't see it.

As for War and Peace - I understand its a lot better in the original Klingon :-)

      Sal,
sincere apologies - I would never insult you like that. And I agree - Klingons are wimps.

I look to you more as one of Joss Whedon's Smoking Hot Girls who can kick my ass type rather than a Klingon - or even a Cossack....

The only thing to read was something about public enemas. Not something I would try.
