Why Couldn't I Use My Webhost To Back Up My Computer Files?

I want to back up my computer files in a cloud and was about to subscribe to Mozy but then I wondered if instead of spending the money on Mozy, why not just back up my computer files at my webhost (Hostgator)? I won't get charged anymore for the space and have five cpanels with unlimited add on domains so I have lots of room to stuff my computer files there. What do you think? Any disadvantages to this over using something like Mozy or Carbonite, etc?

Thanks
Steve

The so called "unlimited space" is for web site related files only. You can get away with storing some stuff but if you put up a lot of files just for archiving you might lose your account. Read the TOS, Hostgator and the others are pretty clear about this.

I just read the TOS for Hostgator Web Hosting, Reseller Hosting, and Dedicated Website Hosting w/ cPanel - HostGator and for SEOHosting.com SEOHosting.com (which is actually what I'm using but is owned and run by Hostgator) and I read that this isn't allowed in the Hostgator TOS but couldn't find where it wasn't allowed in the SEOHosting.com's TOS?? I guess I need to call them.

      Thanks
