Is Patrician the Most Polite Person on the Forum?

Not sure why, but I got curious about who has thanked the most people...By far the highest number I found was Pat's (Patrician) 2100+ thanks she's given out.

I was thinking the other day and "thanks" are more important than we give them credit. Sure, the number of thanks one has may not mean much, but they make people feel good.

And it looks like Pat's been giving thanks more than anyone I can find.

Thanks for giving all the thanks Pat! (Don't mean to embarrass you)

Well, I just saw one of Pat's posts and had to edit this - because I thought you said "was thanked" instead of "has thanked".

She's just plain more spiritual than the rest of us. Sending out good vibes is a very good way to enhance your universe and making people feel good for posting something we agree with, liked, or gave us a laugh is a positive effort at making people feel good.

Either that or she reads a lot and gets tired of typing.

    LOL - Thanks!

When I saw the topic I was like 'oh no that thing that was on for a while that supplies your own name on everything is at it again'!

... but no, this is really about me! Me, right? lol.

Well, I do like to encourage people and I know that if nobody responds to my posts I feel like I must be boring or don't count. So especially with newbs or if someone is trying to be giving, I think they should be thanked.

Another worthy is someone that can make me laugh on one of my darkest days or bring back fond emotions (like music).

I haven't laughed in days and last night just caught a snippet of some police show where the cops are in a mall and report '10:4 a dog has 'lifted his leg' on (something or other)'. That just struck me so funny and I sat here and laughed by myself.

...Then I laughed more at why they do that. Pretty funny if you think about it. I guess they would pee on their feet if they didn't -

so thanks to dogs and cops and to you for paying attention, Kurt!

big hugs 2 U all. You often make my day!

I have a knack for stating the obvious.

And some people still don't get it.

Yeah, but I really mean mine...Unlike those hallow thanks you give out.

Plus, I can still take back those thanks I gave you for Worst Puns of the Week. From now on, your puns will have to be even worse than normal before you'll see another thanks out of me.

    All joking aside...

I never realised I was so trigger happy with the thanks button. I had to check my thanks total after reading your post, Kurt.

I always give thanks for good info, and funny posts, or sarcasm that tickles me... Or even bad posts that provoke good discussions...

    Hey Pat (and Everyone)...

I hope I didn't embarrass you. I was just thinking about how thanking people does matter and makes others feel good and did a quick search and you've given more thanks by far than anyone else I checked out. Maybe someone's out there with more but I couldn't find them.

I'm an old poker player and love to apply poker reads to every day stuff...Giving thanks in this situation is an "unitentional tell". This means there was no alterior motive for the action of giving thanks. Pat just did it to show her appreciation.

Bascially, in poker unitentional tells are honest. Unitentional tells are lies or deception. I find the same is usually true in real life.

So my "poker read" is, Pat's a nice person and has a good heart. Thanking people wasn't done because it's cool or to fuel an ego.

And I believe giving should be noticed as much as receiving.
