How Can I Stop These...

Ok, it's really starting to bug me now, some websites have these ads on with sound and like every 5 minuets the video ad will play and play and all I can do is mute it. Then 5 minuets passes and the mute button is now un-muted. It's bugging me to be honest I know adsweep removes the java ads but I already tried that, it removes the ad but not the sound, so huge problem there... Do you know of anyway to stop these ads? Either by deleting them out like adsweep or just permanently muting them.

I am using Google Chrome or Firefox and I am on a mac, any suggestions would be great.

I never have the sound permanently on either on the PC. I put it on when I have a specific need for it - football, rock music videos (and other essential business-related activities ) - and then turn it straight off again. Having it on all the time would be just like letting the world and his wife roam round your house 24/7 instead of shutting the front door. I own my speakers, they don't own me.

Hehe while turning the sound off is an option but I do like my music, nevermind, I found a solution if anyone is interested. Flashblock, just blocks all the flash on the site and allows you to activate what flash element you want activated.

Firefox is pretty good in blocking those annoying pop-up. Flashblock? Cool! I'll check it out. Thanks for sharing.
