Right now, John Isner and Nicolas Mahut are playing the longest match in
Wimbledon history. Currently it is 59-59.

We may never see anything like this again.

    59-59!!!!

Wow! That's the highest scoring game of soccer I've ever heard of!

    All the best,
    Michael

Yep. In only the first 3 days of action, there's been so much drama. Federer fighting for his life in the first round of Wimbledon not to mention having some trouble today also, and now this insane match between Isner and Mahut which will conclude tomorrow (Thursday) at 59-59. Even Djokovic was in a serious 5 set war in the very first round against Rochus. Wimbledon is very interesting thus far.

59-59 is insane!! I just saw on the news report and thought that they must have agreed on a score like this beforehand or be incredibly frustrated by now.

For me nothing can ever be as exciting as watching Bjorn Borg play. Those were the days.

Yess. It was a little boring in the middle but still an amazing match 11 hrs over 3 days when completed.

I liked that one of the commentators made the point at one point that it was probably also the longest organized and professional sporting event ever to be played. They pointed out baseball games that have gone 8 hours, but never anything like this.

Too bad Isner couldn't keep it going in his next match but he was sore, exhausted, and I hear couldn't move his neck very well. I'm sure he's picked up a ton of new fans for himself and the game. I know I'll be watching him in the future.
