It could have been worse! MINE kept coming back, etc... So here I am, in my late FORTIES, and my mother goes a bit TOO crazy, calls the police(911) a LOT, and ended up in an old folks home. She wants *****ME***** to take responsibility for her, and let her into my home "For NO time at all, just a few weeks.", etc.... The last time she said one week, and it was MONTHS! It MIGHT have been years if I didn't keep pushing, and she went nuts.

My next visit home probably won't be that great. 8-( I moved THOUSANDS of miles away, partially to get away fom her, and she just followed me.

What a beautiful post and great song!

I am blessed to be a mom and grandma. It broke my heart reading a couple of the posts. Please know that even if your mom isn't around (or causes you great stress), she will always love you......it may not seem that way at times and she may not show it.....but she loves you.

I took care of her for the last three years of her life. Congestive heart failure and enphysema. She had a rough life in part due to me. I was in my late 30's. Divorced, footloose and fancy free. thought ... whoa ... how am I gonna' do this? It was the most blessed period of time in my life!

I acquiesed as did she. One day early on in my care for her she came to me and handed me the keys to her car. I said "are you sure?" She said "yes!" I said "OK." After she left the room, I dropped to my knees and thanked God. I did have help.
