newbie needs info on how to use downloads

I had this exact same problem when i started, it is pretty easy actually once you know how.

If you have a website, you go into your website hosts file manager, (details on where to find this should have been sent to you by email when you created your website) where you should find an upload file key. This will ask you to browse your pc to where the video files are stored click on the video you want uploaded then ok. It should also tell you the name of where file is stored and how to access it.

This will upload to your site and to access the file the download link will be the name of your site then whatever the video file is called. sorry cant do a better explanation as cannot put urls in posts at the moment but your file manager should tell you where they stored your uploaded file.

If you dont have a website, you can use a blog or i did find a site called Deposit files that let you upload up to 2 gig files and gives you a link that you can hand out with no limits to their downloads.
