I want to hear your opinions! - I got into an argument with Desmond Ong
on Facebook when Germany was playing Spain. Des was going for Spain and I was going for Germany, He told me I was gonna lose... and I did. Good thing I didn't bet him LOL

I'm going with Netherlands on this one!

    I'd happily argue the toss with any of the pundits all day long, but there's no way I'm taking on The Psychic Octopus. He's far too scary looking to consider any argument with him, however rational. Spain for the win

    Paul the Octopus picked Spain so I'd say its a safe bet.

    Plus they looked fierce against Germany whereas Netherland and Uruguay looked evenly matched. If Spain plays they did against Germany, they're unstoppable.

    The World Cup final match isnt necessarily about who the better team is. Its such an emotional and mental game because there more pressure in the World Cup finals than any other game these players have played.

    So it comes down to the team that can handle pressure and keep emotions checked.


    I am voting Netherlands but its going to be one heck of a match.

            Well, I got to say that this world cup has done nothing for enticing new fans into the sport.

            The whole tournament has been very dissapointing for me.

            Dont think Ive seen one True'ly great game.

            Web, In my opinion did the right thing in not giving any reds out so far in this final even though he had good reason to, it would have killed the game in the first half.

    Is it just me or has this world cup been BORING?

    As a neutral it's not a good advert for fottball at all. It's too hard to score goals...I am tired of watchin 0-0's, 1-0's..They need to change something to open the games up a bit..

    It's is actually supposed to be entertaining.

        The Dutch should not have ANY reason to complain.

        The ref was extremely lenient with them in order to try and get a good final.

        In truth, the Dutch should have been playing with at most ... 10 men from the first half.

    ^Robben had not 1 but 2 chances all alone with the Spanish goalkeeper and he couldn't get it done. Can't miss those opportunities in the biggest game of your life.

    It was not the most inspiring match I have ever seen and had it not been the World Cup, and the final at that, the chances are that I would have switched off at half time and found something better to do. I'll admit that I was bored out of my brains by then but was still very much interested in the outcome, if not in the way that the actual match was going, so I stuck it out until the end and am glad that I did.

    Having no particular allegiance at the start of the game and seeing the excited but apprehensive faces of both teams, I couldn't help wishing for a minute that they could both win. In the end though, Holland looked to be playing some weird rugby/team karate hybrid while Spain played football. Holland's aim seemed to be to impede Spain rather than defend themselves against them, and I thought the end result result was the right one. The ref had his 'blind' moments, but I thought that he was an Equal Opportunities ignorer and did not come across to me as unfair.

    Well done to Spain, and well done to Paul the octopus for seeing it coming.

    It's been an odd tournament in places to say the least, but kudos to South Africa too for being such great hosts. I'll miss it all now it's over.
