Buildings & Rooms: Which is More Logically Sound?

Working on a metaphor.

Is it more likely for a building to contain another building than for a room to contain another room? A building housed within a larger building is still its own building, no? So, it may be rare, but it's logically sound.

However, wouldn't a room within another room just be considered another room? A room within another room isn't really another entity, it's just another room, isn't it?

Logic != truth. Logic is merely a process which may or may not reveal truth.

That said, define building and define room. In your scenario their meaning may intersect.

A building would be a structure containing one or more interior compartments.

A room would be an interior compartment.

If a room is subdivided into additional compartments, each is still a compartment and thus each would be a room. A room doesn't really contain other rooms because if a room is divided up, it simply turns into multiple rooms. If the room is divided by movable structures, then you've divided the room into cubicles, but the room remains a single room.

If the room is large enough, it could contain a small building, which itself could contain one or more interior compartments which would, again, be called rooms.

Isn't that just a part of the room, unless it's a walk-in closet, in which case it can probably be considered another room.

But, how would you divide it further? You could keep putting buildings inside rooms as long as the rooms were sufficiently large enough to accommodate the buildings. But, would you have a closet with its own closet, and that closet with its own closet?

I think that was when the Master's TARDIS and the Doctor's TARDIS each landed inside of the other.

If a building is in a room, wouldn't it then be considered a box or container?

Either that or a display piece.

So a building can contain rooms
    Rooms cannot contain rooms
    Rooms can contain buildings
    Buildings can contain rooms

M.C. Escher might have trouble with that.

If a room is within another room, isn't it a suite, which is a group of rooms?

      Rooms can contain buildings
If it's a large enough room.
