Yesterday I started a thread in the main discussion forum and the few responses that i had were great and inspiring, but that is all the thread had was a few responses... do you think it is because the thread was too positive as many other threads where people Rant and rave about all the negativity around just keep going and going.

Just was an interesting observation and was wondering what any of your thoughts are.

Here is the post if you are intersted, maybe my post was just boring and there is no social comparison to postivity and negativity.

Well I would like to give the opposite of a rant (any one know a single word for it) and just tell you in my time reading and working on IM there has been allot that I am grateful for.

1. I am glad there is Paypal because even if some have issues we all have received money from them in a really innovative way. "you've Got money" how fantastic are those emails?

2. I am glad there are Newbies asking newbie questions how else would I have an equal chance as a newbie myself to answer questions on this forum and add value.

3. I am Extremely grateful there are Oldbies (thats the word for the opposite of newbie) because many of them are patient, give great advice, help out where they can and without knowing it are "follow by reading" mentors to many of us Young one's.

4.Warrior's Moderators are great as they ensure the quality of the information, the constant best practice of the forum, and ever increasing quality of WSO's and other warrior products.

5. I am thankful for People asking for refunds (I only had one) it means I am selling something and gives me the opportunity to Improve my product.

6. Thank you spammers you are making it easier for hardworking people to gain a good reputation as your spam, makes a little added value look so much better.

7. The fact that making money in IM is such hard work, is a blessing .. it means for hard workers the market will never become saturated and always offer opportunities

In conclusion although there is a small part of me that wishes that I had started 10 years ago when adwords was cheap, and competition was low. I am amazed at the opportunities and the changes that are in the market today, because I have started and know so much more than many others around me in the offline world, and can just get better everyday. Thank you warrior forum and all you warriors who try add value, most of you dont know I am there reading your posts and making notes and trying to implement things.

Well thank you for reading, and here is to many years and great success on this Funtabulous forum.

    Hi,

It's difficult to say with certainty why the response was low. But I
don't think it was a boring post. Perhaps people felt you were commenting
and didn't know what to say in response.

I think you may have received more response if you asked a question,
    overall. Just guessing.

Yes, it is true that negative stories - such as something bad that happens,
something that arouses emotions such as fear or anger and the like do
have a way of fixating attention. Think about the news on TV. It's mostly
negative things and 'bad' news type of information. It's like that for a
reason. If people responded more to positive news then there would be more
of that than the other kind.

You didn't ask a question or need feedback - the thread stated your personal position. The "success" of a thread should not be, in my opinion, the motivation for starting a thread. If you have something to say - or ask about - you do it.

Negative posts generate controversy, it's true, but it doesn't always end up reflecting well on the member who started the rant.

Your post was not at all boring. I liked it. There's more negativity around and anything positive is more likely to be ignored in consequence

You did the right thing making that post.

As in: I went to a kind of 'show' last Friday evening in a performance related hobby area. I just hated it. Violentlently disliked it like no other I've experienced. Then I realized, that person's so bad, it wasn't a waste of an evening, it points up how much opportunity there is for me! That cheered me right up.

However polyannaish it sounds, let's look for the bright stuff. It's not in tune with the times and so many won't pick up on it probably, but for sure you did the right thing making that post. (To go a bit off-topic in the Off Topic Forum, it reminds me I haven't heard of Laura in a while. She always sought to brighten up the scene as well)

    Anyway, keep-on, you're doing alright!
