Hello, Warriors!

I am trying to find the LAW (in U.S.A. and Canada) which obliges its residents to pay the income tax. Could someone help me out with this?

Go to a tax attorney. IF you want to avoid taxes, DO NOT do so because someone on this forum or another says you don't have to pay. Be wise and speak with the proper expert.

I'm not going to go too much into this.

But if you use some of the benefits of tax money, you probably should pay something for it whether it's legally binding to pay or not.

Yes, I pay taxes. But I wish I didn't, because then Obama would send me a check.

You can go through all of the "don't pay taxes" routines, and maybe come out on top (I know several people who have tried to fight the IRS and none of them have won...one died while fighting, one moved to Brazil, and a few others are still swinging).

But the thing is this: You'll find yourself totally obsessed with the question, and you'll become an irritating soap-box speaker that your friends will want to stop talking to. As a matter of fact, they'll start hiding every time they see you approaching.

I say: Just pay the dang taxes and move on with your life.

There are so many good things out there, it's hardly worth the effort to spend so much time trying to get around the rules that everyone else follow.

In the US, if you are listed as a 501c organization (non-profit) you don't pay taxes.

If you don't pay taxes, you can go to jail. What does that tell you?

No disagreement from me on that one. But the fact is, if you decide not to pay taxes, you are taking a tremendous risk, justified or not.

          Exactly...

There is NO law that obliges you to pay taxes - yet everyone pays them, if not IRS shows up at your doorstep...

But the fact still stands, in the US and Canada, there is no LAW obliging people to pay taxes. Basically we all get screwed.

In America there is no law that we must pay income taxes unless we are in international commerce.

There are special procedures you need to follow or you will be arrested for non-payment. We just had an actor scapegoated in the US. He missed something because he was reacting to the ex-IRS agent who just won his case against the IRS because of a lack of law that we must pay. LOL.
So legally, no, there is no law - but they will still throw you in jail if you don't pay. Legal, Illegal, doesn't make much difference in our system anymore if you haven't noticed. You pay when and what they tell you to. Period.

Law or not regarding taxes, the government wants your money. If you plan on not paying, you still need that lawyer to defend you. I'd speak with them before you decide not paying...

You can also claim sovereignty. It's a pain and it takes some learning to do it right - a lot of papers to file. When you go to claim your strawman, they will try to discourage you and stop you - but you can get it done.

I would imagine the easiest way would be to look back over court records of any cases where the IRS lost and read them thoroughly, maybe contact the lawyers involved for info on what made it impossible to be prosecuted for non-payment.

Okay, so there is no law saying you have to pay income tax. Fine.

But I will bet you drive on roads built with tax dollars and will call 911 to ask for help from tax-funded officers if you were in trouble.

Open up a bank account in a tax haven such as the Bahamas or Sweden. Use funds from that account to invest in the stock market, real estate, businesses, etc. Earnings are unreported and not taxed. There are also tax-free municipal bonds available in most major US cities for public works. There is no reason anyone has to pay taxes at all.

On a side note, if you owe back taxes, do NOT use the companies you see on tv without due diligence. Most are cons, and almost any tax attorney can do what they offer, usually for a lot less money.
