BTW the three I agree with them on?

    1. Atlanta BIG, unstructured, no conveyors.
    2. Chicago ohare STUPID ATCs, BIG, unstructured, concourses are not consistant, no conveyors
    3. JFK BIG, unstructured, the outside is a REAL mess.

    I would add detroit

SENSELESS iritation tunnel to secondary concourse for NWA/DELTA, LONG drawn out concourse on B/C In A, they provide a train.

    ALSO OHIO

SENSELESS lack of jetways, had cable covers that could cause one to trip.

Of course, MOST airports, including some of those above, are not really easy to define, since they are broken up into terminals, and those can vary a LOT!

Mmmm... a (supposed) survey of 2,000 people from EIGHTY countries... and 5 of the 9 worst airports (I only see 9 in the slide-show) in the ENTIRE world are in the U.S.?

Either half (or more) of those 2,000 people were Americans... or you guys are REALLY bad at airports.

Here's a good article on the same topic with a more global view:

OK, I could MAYBE agree about reagan! But Detroit (DTW) ??!?!?!?!? COME ON!
The LONG walks, etc... and that stupid tunnel? FORGET IT!

BTW regarding hawaiis airport. If it is ALWAYS so open, what happens when it rains!?!? And getting off a big plane, with no jetway? And what of security?

BTW the security at denmarks airport wasn't great, but I liked the airport.

I like Hartsfield - perhaps because I lived in Atlanta in its early days and learned my way around it. They've got some good food at some of the vendors there.

You probably had more time also. I REALLY had to use the internet, and wifi wasn't available yet, so I used a hardwired cable there. I really liked it. But yeah, they have a LOT of stores and restaurants. Probably more than ANY other airport I have been to. If you have the time, GREAT! I have flown to parts of dulles, reagan, hartsfield, jfk, logan, detroit, ohio, philidelphia, pittburgh, newark, LAX, ohair, midway, bush airport, burbank, john wayne, fort wayne, indianapolis, san jose, long island, la guardia, copenhagen, tirstrup(sp?) well, you get the idea...

BTW burbank and indianapolis are pretty nice as far as size, layout, and stores. And tirstrup was kind of cute! The part in copenhagen, that a little airport bus took us to from the main airport, was like a bus station, and the pilot fueled the little plane! It was one of those types that kneeled down like an animal at a stream getting water. In aarhus(?) I just remember going in and getting my bag. I think it is used ONLY to avoid the ferry. The ferry takes like 3 hours, and the plane takes like 30 minutes.

I guess St Paul, MN isn't a big enough port to get acclaim for their self-serving, smug little assholes. Certain destinations would have to freeze over before I ever get caught in that pit again.

Chicago O'Hare has officially lost my luggage more times than any other airport and I don't even go to Chi town for a final destination

Sadly, I don't remember what newark was like. I guess it couldn't have been TOO bad. I went there to work at prudential. It was neat. The hotel I went to was across the street from "pen station"(which was CROWDED!!!!!), and connected to a nice mall. I walked through that mall, sometimes got dunkin doughnuts, and prudential had a shuttle from THERE to ANOTHER mall that was right behind their main office building. They had a seemingly ENDLESS commercial for Kay Jewlers("every kiss begins with kay". MAN I hate that commercial!). ALL that, and I can't remember the airport I went to perhaps 12-16 times while I was there!

Newark is the airport I fly out of mostly (95% of my flights). Honestly, it's really not all that bad.

It's not all that large, the three terminals are not far apart, and they have a monorail between them.

They have never lost my luggage (lucky I guess).

I agree with Steve about Detroit. Also not a fan of Miami or even Denver.

Did a LOT of layovers in Chicago - never had problems there - and Dallas (same - no issues).

Overall, after 25 years of flying never once was my luggage lost. In fact, MOST of my flying experiences have been fine. Aside from delays and long check in lines, I don't really have many complaints.

I think NYC LaGuardia is one of the worst. JFK is pretty bad too. I don't agree with their putting O'Hare on the list -- I absolutely love both Chicago's airports.

I guess you have never often flown out of chicago, ESPECIALLY not during the rainy season or as a hub.

Absolutely Heathrow is the worst of the worst, yes its Huge airport, and use its a Hub for all international flyers, but it sucks to get to one terminal to another.
