The People We Elect...

Two very sad stories:

FOXNews.com - FBI: Photos Show Massachusetts Lawmaker Stuffing Bribes in Bra - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

FOXNews.com - Sen. Ted Stevens Convicted on 7 Corruption Counts, Pledges to Pursue Campaign - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

I live on the outskirts of Detroit - a city which just saw its Mayor go to jail today.

Just sickening.

I'm in Clarkston right now Michael - got to see the whole thing. When I was in Boise the Mayor and his aid were arrested, too - but they are STILL in jail. 120 days is a joke.

What pisses me off badly is that these criminals just go right back to being politicians. No Way. Once someone is prosecuted it should be illegal for them to even think about taking an office again -- if people will allow an arrested criminal back into any leadership position there is nothing else to believe but that everyone is either hopelessly brainwashed or hopelessly insane.

I'm with you Sal... Well, actually, I don't think it should be illegal to run for office again for the truly reformed, and don't ask me how we know who's truly reformed, I don't know. I guess their actions would speak to that.

But I certainly think it's mind boggling and sad that these convicts can acquire such a following that they can easily get re-elected and continue to drive the city into the gutter while everyone smiles and waves their signs around on TV.

Washington DC and Detroit are perfect examples.
