    I've had three different tarantulas as pets over the years (don't have one now).

    They're actually fairly tame creatures. I got my first one back in the 70's after seeing one on a show called Romper Room that my kids were watching. Miss Connie was letting the kintergardeners play with the tarantula on a table and I thought "Well that looks pretty cool" so I went out and bought one.

    The kid at the pet store refused to get it out of the terrarium. He said if I wanted it I'd have to reach in and get it myself. So I did.

    You feed them crickets and boy are the fun to watch when they go after those crickets...:p
