I always liked this guy. What a great show this guy had in the 60's and 70's. I hadn't heard from him in a long while and wondered if he had passed away. Here he is doing a new commercial:

I loved watching the Andy Griffith show in the 60s. I thought Miss Crump
    was hot.

I still think one of the funniest movies I've ever seen was No Time For
Sergeants. It was made in the late 50s or earlier, possibly. Andy Griffith
was in that. Did you ever see it? I laughed so hard in that movie.

It is said that thiat was the inspiration for Gomer Pyle USMC, with Jim Neighbors basically playing Andy Griffiths part.

As for the politics in that first video, SNEAKY! I already said what they are planning to do and ******HOW******! THAT is the important part, the HOW! Oh Well, I will leave it at that.

I joke around a little when on the phone and if there's some dead air or instead of saying "can you hear me now?" I'll say "helllllooooo? Helollooo?".

It's a private joke no one understands...I'm doing a bad impersonation of Andy Griffith in the scene from No Time for Sgts....It's the one in the airplane when Andy's in the cockpit trying to get someone on the radio...He's going Helllllooooo? Hellooo? Anybody there? Helllllooooo? Helllooo?".

The other person doesn't get it, but I think it's funny.

PS...It was a TV show for a short while too...I can barely remember watching it.

I immediately knew what you were talking about and can hear it plain as day. I
also have done that to people, and no one has ever gotten it.

Thank gawd I was never PLO when I was in the military. Do you remember
        what that was?

          Tina,

Well, I don't know if I much like the idea of him making it sound like his culture is SO out of touch, but it is funny none the less. I forgot about how he did that, even though it could be argued that NTFS was like that. MOST of his humor talks about just simple country life how some can be like barney, otis, gomer, that cousin of his(not goober, by the other), or his aunt or him.

          Ken,

As for PLO? I know. Wasn't AG's character in NTFS made one? As I recall, he LOVED it and did GREAT, but his sargeant was upset because he couldn't hurt him.

I seem to remember AG and his buddy, can't remember his name, were
both PLO's. But I definitely remember Andy was, and he did an incredible
job of it. He made that contraption that raised all the lids at the same
            time. LOL

I wish I could watch that again, just for the helluva it. I doubt it's even
            on DVD, but maybe.

Remember how strong he was? You know, country boy strong.

Do you remember what his hound dog's name was?

Andy's been pretty active lately. He, Ron Howard and Henry Winkler made a video supporting Obama during the election...He also has a part in this C/W video:

Well, at least THAT video I can say nothing bad about. I like the way it was done, etc.... It IS ironic, given the first posters comments. I mean the end implies that Andy died and is waiting on a bench perhaps 1-2 decades for his wife that may take WHO KNOWS how long once she gets there! 8-(

As for the 2 from happy days, I almost wished I befriended Ron just so I could call him up and say "Hey guy.....How do you feel NOW?".

I actually probably watched most of the howard and winkler TV shows. I even remember gentle ben(One of clint howards series). I used to love that show. Of course andy griffith and happy days were nice also. The howards aren't much older than I am. They'll probably get to see, and maybe experience, how this all ends up.

I know a sunday school teacher that takes all the episodes and shows one show in class each sunday and says each episode has a lesson that can be taught in a biblical way. That each episodes ends with a moral value that can be used for everyone each day. Thought that was an interesting method of using Andy's episodes. I have written articles and have used Andy's shows as an example many times to get a point across. I love his shows.

Cool video. I hadn't seen that one before. By the way, the sax in that song is played by the great jazz legend Sonny Rollins who the Stones hired to for that album. I love Sonny. Saw him play at Stanford once. It was just Sonny with no band. Solo sax for about an hour. Incredible musician.

    ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I even like those reruns now - but you don't see them much. It's too bad a show like that wouldn't really work in today's programing. Can you just imagine Barney Fife with a taser? LMAO
