What would you do if you got a $2000 credit from a computer store that you HAD to spend there?

You would probably not buy any computer components at other places, because you would want to use the $2000 credit, right?

NOW, think about BP! They have a $20Billion credit that they can spend ONLY on claims!

So what do you think THEY are doing?

YEP! They are not paying many indirect claims, because they want the $20B to handle it!

BP leaves many damage claims waiting in limbo - Yahoo! News

BP is going to weasel out of paying anyone anything that they can. That's the type of thing they do best -- right after causing ecological and human destruction.

I think those who were afraid to boycott this company because of a few jobs, etc. are going to be very surprised when they see the end results of this fiasco and see what is coming out of public pockets that should come out of theirs. -- and I foresee even more disaster when they are handed that new drill in Alaska. That's going to be a nightmare if it goes wrong that will dwarf the gulf spill -- and they will still end up not paying for it.

Stations are begging BP to change their name to Amco, which BP bought a few years ago.

I just saw on the news yesterday that if you have a claim in with BP and you helped clean up the spill, your work is deducted from your claim:confused:

REALLY? That doesn't make ANY sense! YOU help THEM, and they take it from your compensation? EVEN if they paid you to clean up, it is a TOKEN amount. That counts as HAZARDOUS duty. MOST people get paid MORE for hazardous duty.

You're right it doesn't make any sense at all.
The guy being interviewed is the president of the shrimping group in his state.
He also said that even tho they have been cleared to shrimp again, nobody is buying the gulf shrimp or if the are it is at way below market value.

I think it is too late. MANY know about the relationship, and more would learn.

Anyone starting to see the logical reality of boycotting a company off the map. I wish people would do that to Monsanto, too. Until we get rid of companies like these, there isn't going to be much fixing anything.

Look at the concentration camp that BP is calling a "medical facility". How can anyone support this travesty because some people will temporarily lose money if they go under. What happened to common sense. If something is "too big to fail" it's nothing but a sure sign that it should.

Well, NO decent person is "SUPPORTING" it. Those people may PERMANENTLY lose money. After all, we are talking about RETIREMENT.

I STILL say "too big to fail" is ILLEGAL! About 110 years ago, they codified that in the sherman antitrust act. ONE company controlled ALL oil in the US. They broke it up into LOTS of companies.

But let's look at the phone company! It is a GREAT example of this stupidity. There was ONE company. ONE! Well, they figured it violated the law, and they broke it(Often called MA Bell) into many other companies(called baby bells). Time passed, and things seemed ok, but they were sued. SO, the baby bells became what is known as ILECs(Incombent local exchange carriers) and they were FORCED to provide "wholesale" services to competitors CLECs(Competitive ...). OKAAAY... Things were still KIND of ok, but the pie was cut REALLY small....

SO, they decided to MERGE! AND, in the beginning, they had to get APPROVAL to merge, but THAT went away. SO, they got to merge a LOT, and take over a region, and became known as regional carriers. Well, THEY competed and merged and became SUPER REGIONAL! If I told you the carrier in my area say 20 years ago, you would probably have trouble finding another that had the same carrier. So who is my carrier NOW? VERIZON! NOW for the PUNCH LINE! Pacbell was a babybell. It kept merging and merging and eventually became cingular which swallowed up AT&T.

SO, things were split up and put back together again. This is almost like that scene in austin powers where number 2 shows mr evil all that has happened using models to represent the factories, and the last factory is the one that was created to make the models. So we went through all this just to find new ways to classify businesses!

Anyway, if it is TOO BIG TO FAIL, it means it controls too much of a needed market and is thus a MONOPOLY and illegal.

You know, I hate to say it..... On one site a guy PLEADED that they put stickers on fish saying they are from the gulf. WHY!?!?!? Because S/He, like me, does NOT want to eat ANY gulf fish for a decade or more. I believe that person said TWENTY years! Seriously, how long will it take to dissipate? 20 years might not be enough.
