Nasty Surprise Hidden in the Housing Bailout

This is Newt Gingrich's newsletter from 10/7/08:

One Last Chance for McCain

Check out what was hidden in the housing bailout that was passed back in the summer. Gingrich mentions it about one-third of the way down the page. I wonder which sneaky S.O.B.s are responsible for that.

But haven't the members of this forum identified that as their goal and main reason for being here? I'm all for getting richer. I certainly don't think people should be penalized for being successful.

yes Russ, but I think most of us here, no matter what our political affiliation are ethical and our goal is to do it morally and ethically.

Well, yeah....but....uh...it isn't going to do anyone any good to work to get more money pretty soon because if you make enough they will just take it and give it to someone who didn't make any effort to make any but hasn't got any. Of course, we could just follow the last step into fascism they just took and then the gov will just take what we have and not even bother to redistribute it. Not looking good right now for the US. No matter which of the two headed dragon gets the open window to roar through.

I hope you don't mind I am posting this in the thread about Obamanation and ACORN.

It is bad enough we are going to have to sit through a leftist free for all orgy for 4 years - I hope they totally implode - at least they are left with the mess to clean up and don't blame conservatives because Bushy wasn't one.

This all just confirms my worst suspicions about the whole process. I wish I still had my head buried in the sand when it comes to politics.

I have a friend who sometimes refers to him as "Lyndon Baines Bush."

If Obama is elected and the Dems are in power - who are they going to blame?

I thought that was going to be a problem for them, but then I remembered there are plenty of conservative targets for them. Somehow they will blame someone else for the problems that arise. It's never them. Barney Frank is a good example of not taking responsibility and blaming others.

      Regards,

      John

The fact that he spent the past 8 years helping create the problem doesn't mean anything?

I know someone posted a poll where bush was really only the 32 or so worst president ( I don't rememebr his real ranking, but I can promise it wasn't in the top 30), but IMO he is the worst president in both my lifetime and in one of the most corrupt in my lifetime.

Don't believe the polls, Patricia. They're not at all reliable. Most likely, they are being manipulated. And even if they aren't, the sampling error is almost certainly large enough that the results are meaningless. If polls were reliable, President Kerry would currently be running for re-election.

Instead of an opinion article, how about posting the actual bill and showing me where it says that?

    Space Cadet, you're homeless?

Bush will be studied in history books with pure disgust. If there wasn't so much evil, corruption, blind misguided loyalty, greed, and absence of any kind of morality in DC, the war would have never even been considered. China's communist, why doesn't Shrub "spread democracy" over there with billions of dollars worth of bombs?

Why are you so angry? Contributes nothing if you just blow up whenever someone says something that disagrees with your own view. I don't think you'll find many who don't agree with you about Bush - what a bad joke he's been.

The big news I picked up last night was that the companies taking bailout money will not be using it as planned. The bailout was supposed to free up money for banks to start making loans again to the public.

Instead, about half of that money has been earmarked by those institutions to pay DIVIDENDS to their investors!!!

The rationale is that businesses like to keep dividends the same - but how do these banks justify paying ANY investor dividends when they are losing money?

It seems while the bailout bill was being stuffed with port, a few rather important provisions were ignored.

As for the money to Acorn - that should raise a real stink! ...but it probably won't.

Kay, what are you talking about?

How do you read anger into a simple question?

And asking a question is not a situation of someone "just blow up whenever someone says something that disagrees with your own view. "

Maybe you need to go back and reread the whole thread because all I said was was that those of us here on the Warrior Forum make our money ethically. AT least most of us.
